2) I wonder if it's something hotwired into the brain that encourages people (including myself) to push crosswalk and elevators more than once while waiting?

3) Crap, NaNo starts in three days. I find it a bit funny about how I'm more worried about how I don't have a proper writing icon than how I don't have a proper story structure.

If you push the button more than once, it thinks more people re waiting for it and will put you on a higher priority.

Either that or it's the part of your brain that yells at people when they forget what you told them to do.
