I was thinking about the word maudlin tonight. It's a good word. I thought it described my mood in general, but then I looked up the definition. Yikes. I haven't hit that extreme yet, lol. Lets see if the thesaurus has any better ideas. *checks dictionary.com* lets see, we have bathetic, befuddled, confused, cornball, drippy*, emotional, gushing, insipid, lachrymose, mawkish, mushy, romantic, schmaltzy, sentimental, slush, soap, soapy, soppy, syrupy, tear-jerking, tearful, teary, weak, weepy. Ugh. Nope, not it. And what kind of word is bathetic?? That one I have to click on... lets see, ba·thet·ic [buh-thet-ik] –adjective. displaying or characterized by bathos: the bathetic emotionalism of soap operas. All righty then. Yeah. Not there. Just feeling a bit emotionally upheaved. It'll settle.

I missed a few along the way, I'll have to make an I suck birthday post again.

This weekend was surprising. Surprising in the fact that around 10pm on Thursday night I got an IM from

bluewindkitsune saying "How would you like to be kidnapped for the weekend by a couple of crazy negroes?" Well that's a paraphrase, I'm pretty sure the exclamation of "you crazy negroes" was made by me and came after the realization that he was deadly serious about driving out from upstate NY with

sixswordsamurai (which is on average about a 3 hour trip one way) at ass-o'clock at night to steal my ass for a visit. So, long story short, I spent the weekend in the company of most of the active Order of Anami as well as Blue's large adopted tribe. Really, once I'd gotten over the suddenness of the trip and survived the drive back with a energy drink fueled Blue and Kibble, I actually did appreciate the impromptu mini-vacation. I had some chance to clear out my head, gained a little perspective on some headnoise I was chewing on, and, well, came back with a few other things to think about. Hence the goddamn it I'm something that's about n less intense than maudlin right now. It was a very good weekend though... course I'm going to be quite busy this week making up for the lost time I thought I'd have doing shit around the house. Oh well. Not a big deal.

Still, even though there was a sink full of stuck-on turkey pot pie detrius to attend to, coming home to hugs, funny stories, THE NEW HESS TRUCK (my

morlock loves me oh yes he very does), and lots of yay you're back kisses from both the boy and the gal was quite with the wonderful. The best part about going away is always coming back to people who are glad to see you. :)

And now, I'm going to indulge my NotMaudlin with another playing of "I Shall Not Walk Alone," cause I've had it stuck in my head since Friday, and then probably go to bed, for alas, I have work. Boo. :)
