It's very tempting to resort to hyperbole when referring to the sheer amount of pain I've inflicted upon myself in the last hour and a half... I won't be so arrogant to say that attempting to shove a gold stud followed by a captive bead ring through a piercing that's all but closed is the most painful thing you can ever inflict on yourself, but it is pretty high up there in the echelon of combing out seriously snarled up black hair with a thin tooth comb and no oil/water. But yeah, I just did that five and a half times... the half because the second hole in the left ear will not go through no matter how patiently I work at it. I had to give up because between the abuse and the other earrings, my ears have puffed up to the point of futility. I'll try again tomorrow when the swelling goes down, and if that doesn't work enlist a little help from the professionals down at Lucky's. In the meantime, hot water saturated in salt makes it better. Kinda. Ow.
