Apr. 5th, 2008 09:06 amImproving. Slowly but surely. Two days ago, even with painkiller I couldn't actually inhale past a small gasp. It hurt to stand up and shuffle to the bathroom. Hell, it hurt to sleep any way but on my back, and pretty much elevated to a sitting position. Now I can almost... almost breathe normally. Stairs are still a bit of a bitch. But I'm getting better. Which is good, cause you know, I enjoy things like being able to breathe/cough/burp/hiccup/laugh. And sleep on my side for a change. It was sore going, but I managed it last night. Whee.
Am finding it a bit obscenely amusing that I'm wide awake right now on a Saturday. I'd have to be anyway, as once
sundart and
anzovin wake up its off to feed the CDH vampires. (Actually they're checking my INR... once someone calls me and says it's at 2.5ish I can stop the Luvenox shots, hooray. I can do them, but damn, it still freaks me out - I gave myself the shot yesterday and completely broke down crying afterwards.) But I'm awake now cause
bluewindkitsune called me at ass o'clock to be cute because the night I got admitted I was sad because I was going to miss my Wednesday morning wake up call from him (he drives to the city ass-early on Wednesday mornings for work and calls me to keep him company - it's something I look forward to a lot each week) so he decided to make up for it today since he was awake and thought it would be fun to get a morning Warcrack run in. (wow, there's a run on sentence for you.) I'm 2 boxes from 58. Outland or bust tonight.
Speaking of adorable.
morlock has taken to sitting with me at night with his computer because, understandably, this week I've been a little freaked about actually going to sleep. It's not like I actually think I won't wake up or nothing, but when you're tired and already overwhelmed my the fact that something that potentially fatal happened to you, you get a little paranoid about letting go of consciousness. So for the past couple of nights, he's brought in his laptop and will sit in my computer chair, holding my hand and talking to me until I actually conk out. Which is so fucking sweet it kills me. And
sundart has been trekking along with me back and forth to the hospital and CVS and everywhere and listening to me whine about my shots and spoiling me a lot. They've been such troopers. I can only imagine how scary this week must have been for everyone who just had to stand by and watch me deal with this. Really, through all of this I'm just astounded anew by the people I'm lucky to have in my life, either in the flesh, via packets of ones and zeros, or over miles of air and copper wire at the speed of sound. I seriously could not have gotten through this week without all of them and all of you.
and now before this entry derails completely into sappy - breakfast.

Date: 2008-04-05 03:33 pm (UTC)Trust me it will work out, you will have a bunch of quest post 70 to complete for full gold. Even if you don't wait to 60, skip most of The Blades Edge Mountains quest (you will need a gryphon to complete them). Also a good chunk of Netherstorm is easier with one also.

Date: 2008-04-13 02:39 am (UTC)Yep...I know how you feel. I was the same way in the hospital. I eventually asked the nurses if I could have a small dose of Ambien at night so I could get some sleep. That helped. It does get better as time passes though. The only thing I do now is carry a cell phone in my pocket at all times. If I start feeling weird, it's handy and I can take it out and call someone. Fortunately, that's never happened, but it's reassuring on days where I'm home alone.
It's been three months since I've had the embolism, and I feel like I'm back to my normal self. Lately, I've been walking two miles every other day or so. I'm pooped by the time I get home, but I can do it! Hang in there! Things will start getting better!
