Road trip?

This is mostly aimed at the Girls of Camp Amoeba (yes, I made it sound like a bad reality show on purpose) but I was actually wondering if anyone else might be interested...

There is apparently a fabulous Halloween and costume store in Worcester called the Halloween Outlet. Fabulous enough to be featured on a couple of Halloween specials on a couple of different cable channels last year. I so want to go, plus it's like three hours of driving practice (straight out Rt 9 from here almost all the way there - still not quite brave enough to try the highway).

So. Who wants to come with me?

Just to warn you, that can be a fun drive, but it's long. As in, it will probably take you close to two hours each way. Not to mention that there will be a lot of town centers you will pass through. Watch your speed carefully on the stretches through small towns, the cops can be assholes about speeding. It *is* a good trip for driving practice, though.

Good luck!

yeah, google maps said 1h 48 min one way. Should be okay as long as I've mainlined coffee beforehand. :)

It is indeed nifty and awesome, and had a life-sized pumpkinhead rubber statue last time I was there (like 7' tall and full of monstery goodness)

Also, as it's up by the Greendale mall It's really close to the Higgins Armory (http://www.higgins.org/) if you want to make a bit more of a day of it. And it's also not too far fro That's Entertainment (http://thatseco.ipower.com/) which may lack the awesomeness of Modern Myths, but makes up for it in being HUGE and full of silliness.

Tom, I seem to recall having gone to the Halloween Outlet with you, and it being much with the grooviness. I also seem to recall being tempted by the rubber alien fetus in a jar of green liquid...or something else "preserved" in pink liquid, maybe.
