I tend to take my wedding ring off to wash dishes and shower and stuff. This of course leads to me misplacing it frequently. For a while I was wearing it around my neck on a chain because my fingers are usually a hair too dinky for it anyway, but then I gained weight and started actually wearing it again.

Yesterday before the movie (we went to see Hellboy, which was pretty but could have been about 30 min shorter) I had been tweaky because I'd mislaid it again and couldn't find it - [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat and [livejournal.com profile] sundart found it. I put it on, and no surprise considering I've lost weight, it was loose.

I just noticed it's gone again. And I don't remember taking it off. Which means it could have disappeared anywhere between 6pm yesterday and now, in any of the places visited in my travels. I'm going downstairs to check the kitchen sink in case I slipped it off to do the dishes, but I really don't remember doing so.

Fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck.

ETA: Found it in yesterday's pants. Apparently I did take it off to do dishes but actually put it somewhere sensible when I did so. Back on the chain it goes, fuck this noise.

I take mine off for such things too, but there is only one place I ever put it. You might want to make such a place and only ever put it there. You might also want to get it sized to fit you. It was only $25 to get mine sized.

I did look into that. Problem with it getting sized is that there's a rose pattern engraved on it, and shrinking it may mess it up.

For the record I have incredibly small fingers, expecially for someone my size. My ring is currently size 4 1/2 and it's very loose.

The tip about picking a special spot and only ever putting it there is a good one, especially since I still take the chain off to shower. I know just the place too.

Sizing can mess up patterns. That's the reason that Rick's ring doesn't have a celtic knot pattern. His fingers are something like a 12 and any ring was oing to need sizing.

You do have small fingers! Do you have small feet, too? My fingers are 5 1/2 (fairly proportional, considering that I'm short and pretty thin) and my feet are a size 5 (which is equal to a kids 3 1/2).

I have fairly normal sized feet (8 1/2 - 9) but only in one direction. I've tried on shoes designated AA or N that were too wide for me. On the plus side, I am rather proud of how they look in strappy sandals. When they're not all weirdly swollen, anyway.

yeah, my proportions are just all fucked up.

Glad you found it. I would be devastated if I lost either of mine...that's why they are both plain metal with no stones or carvings so that I never have to take them off.
