Jul. 19th, 2008 11:48 am1. What movie have you seen the most times in the theater? How many times?
Tied for 5 times, O Brother Where Art Thou and Iron Man. I think Iron Man holds the more legit cause I actually paid for it.
2. What was the last movie you walked out of in the theater?
I've never walked out of a movie. If it's that bad I have fun heckling it.
3. What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
E.T. I was four, and it was a BIG DEAL. And it scared the living bejesus out of me. I still find space suits kinda scary and threatening.
4. What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Best collection of licenced music? Forrest Gump. Actually Grosse Pointe Blank could tie for that actually.
Score: I did like the Danny Elfman Batman score a hell of a lot. Though I also loved John Williams Jurassic Park. Really I kinda worship all the big epic stuff both composers have done.
5. Have you ever dressed up as a movie character for Halloween? If so, who?
No, but I did march in the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade as Hexadecimal in high school.
6. What was the first R-rated movie you ever saw? Were you allowed or did you sneak?
Oh, my sisters used to take me to R rated stuff all the damn time. They thought it was funny, I found it... educational. ;) The first one I remember seeing was Single White Female.
7. Star Wars (original trilogy) or Lord of the Rings?
I liked both, but I think I'll let wiser heads answer for me.
8. Pacino or DeNiro?
Tough call, I like both of them. Pacino, I think.
9. Titanic...did it suck or was it great?
It's not a great film to take your ex-girlfriend to when she's feeling suicidal. *giggle* I'm never going to let
harinezumi live that one down.
10. What's your take on Cassavetes?
All I really know about him is that Denis Leary name checked him in "I'm an Asshole."
11. Favorite John Hughes character?
I'm going to agree with nounsandverbs (and Jay and Silent Bob by extension) and go with Bender from The Breakfast Club.
12. What movie gives you a boner (or makes you tingle)?
Generally any movie where Angelina Jolie gets to handle guns, or lushly costumed historical/fantasy flicks. Or anything with a candy oversaturated color palette. I love old technicolor movies for that reason - back when color was still wow inducing just on its own merits, hollywood wasn't afraid to use saturation like a visual assault weapon. (BTW, if anyone hasn't seen The Fall yet GO.)
13. What movie always makes you cry like the big puss you are?
Lots of movies. I actually cry a lot at movies. There's a famous oft told tale of how I bawled at the end of Independance Day the first time I saw it.
14. What's the furthest you've ever gotten in a movie theater? (i.e, second base...)
Uhhhh. :D Nothing too crazy, but lets just say I still don't know how Mavarick ends and I was very glad to have seen Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Ass-Kebob twice beforehand.
15. Speaking of sports metaphors, what's your favorite sports movie?
I wanna say something snarky for this like Space Jam, but I've never seen it. I don't really do sport movies. Too cheesy and inspiring.
Wait! Does Karate Kid II count?
16. (a) Favorite... teen movie?
Clueless.
(b)...Quentin Tarantino movie?
Pulp Fiction.
(c)...Bill Murray movie?
Groundhog Day, though I did like that weird Steve Zissou movie too.
(d)...romantic comedy?
I don't usually do romantic comedy. They usually end up dumb.
(e)...gangster movie?
Goodfellas
(f)...horror movie?
The Exorcist. Still scares the crap out of me. I still have a soft spot for the original Friday the 13th, too.
(g)...made for TV movie?
nounsandverbs had a great answer here. "The PBS version of Into the Woods."
(h)...director?
I don't tend to have director fetishes, but I haven't seen an Alfonso Cuaron or a Guillermo Del Toro movie I haven't liked.
(i)...drug movie?
Does this mean movies about drugs, or movies that are enhanced if you see them in Gods-I'm-High-D?
Former, Reefer Madness, the Musical (actually aslo put this under Made for TV movie).
17. What movie have you seen already but will never, ever, ever watch again?
Blair Witch Project. WTF dude, that wasn't a movie that was was indie wank at the moment of climax.
18. What movie are you embarrassed to really like?
most cartoon movies from the mid eighties, Milla Jovovich Saves the World Again movies....
19. What movie should be remade ASAP?
Hollywood desperately needs to come up with some original shit.
21. For the love of everything that's sacred, please someone stop (insert answer) from making another movie!
I'd say Uwe Boll, but every generation does need an Ed Wood figure.
22. What movie do all your friends love but you think is whatevs?
I'm not sure if there is one. I can pretty much sit through and enjoy just about anything. Much the same with music.
23. What movie do you love but all your friends think is whatevs?
I don't really have one of those either. I can usually get someone to watch random shit with me
24. If you could hump/date/marry any movie character, who would it be?
Mmmm, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Sex. er, Stark.
25. Best...movie....ever?
I really don't think I'm qualified to make that claim.
26. Book you wish would be made into a movie, and who would direct it?
There are a few out there... but some of them DEFINTELY won't be made into movies with the Dark Ages mentality we have about obscenity right now.
Off to throw clothes on and head to Hadley. Gonna buy a ticket to the Dark Knight and then spend the time waiting for it farting around a bit.
