Gobble Gobble
Nov. 27th, 2003 08:17 amHappy Thanksgiving y'alls.
The one T-day tradition I'm keeping this year, seeing as I'm not home with the biofam today: plunking myself down in front of the telly, popping on NBC, and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from beginning to end. I look forward to enjoying it more than usual actually, because we have digital cable in this house (guaranteed sharp, clean picture) as opposed to a huge pair of late 1980's era ghettofabulous rabbit ear antennae on the big TV at the 'rents (fuzzy staticky picture that occasionally craps out into white noise - they have Direct TV but it's only in Dad's and Mom's rooms). Also, there will be no one interrupting my three hours of cheezy parady bliss by bellowing my name at top volume up or down stairs. Sometimes it's a little soul killing having a name that ends in a shrill vowel. Especially when your mother has opera trained lungs.
After that, who knows? I'm looking forward to a quiet, low key day. May call the fam later this evening, and will definitely call
harinezumi at
ketsugami's parents' house so we can get together in The City sometime this weekend. It's been about two and a half years since I've seen him last, it's so crazy, but there's the story of our friendship, mostly maintained by telephone and electronica. *shakes head.* C'est la vie. Anyway, seeing him will be fun.
Perhaps I will write today, and see if I can do something about this cough that's been plaguing me since Monday. bleh. I'd better not be getting my special asthma-related bronchitis. That's the last thing I need right now.
Anyway, I'd better gather my resources for my parade watching. And eat breakfast.
