Dawn of a new year...
Jan. 1st, 2004 09:08 amwas partly cloudy, fiery pink, and dead. I love the mornings after major party holidays - everyone's too fucking stoned, hung over or asleep to be out and about this early. Except of course for the cats who don't give a shit what day it is and insist on waking me up at sevenish anyway. Not that I minded too much.
Last night was pretty low-key.
beatgoddess and
primitive_boy watched a ton of X-Files (gotta love Netflix subscriptions), and I managed to cornroe my hair in preparation for the yarning I plan to do today. Course now I look like a pre-perm, Gin and Juice era Snoop Dogg (bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay!)... Okay okay, not that ugly. I'll take Queen Latifah in Set It Off then... nah, not that gorgeous. Ah well. :)
Sunny-D came home (ha ha) around 11:30 and and came to find me, and kiss me (mmm, yeah, that's what I call a happy new year) then there was more X-Files, and a very little bit of watching the post ball drop Dick Clarkiness. Ugh. I swear, twenty years from now they're going to preserve his head in a glass globe and put that in the stupid ball and drop that. Or reanimate it somehow and make it continue doing New Years Rockin' Eve a la Futurama
primitive_boy went to bed, and the rest of us watched the pilot (2 episodes worth) of Queer as Folk (the US edition, if anyone's wondering), which, in contrast to the creepy shit going on in the X-Files, was a campy laugh riot. Well, except for all the boy drama. And the amusingly played out stereotyping of straight people. And *whimper* watching boys kiss, make out and have sex is so... *happy sigh* And damn it is there a soundtrack? I must have it, but in the meantime I did find an impressive music listing online this morning... Definitely watching the other five episodes I brought home today, probably whilst dealing with the hair.
