I know most of you first weekender freaks already know this but Holy Crap Star Trek was made of sweet buttery geekgasmolicious awesome. Like seriously, I might have to see it a few more times and sleep with the DVD under my pillow next to Iron Man when it comes out.

That first sequence with the corvette and Sabotage? Win.

I think I heart that adorable Russian kid with the impenetrable accent playing Chekhov. Bonus for knowing what he said after succesfully catching Kirk and Sulu mid freefall and laughing hysterically.

Winona Ryder, lolwut.

So yeah definitely see it if you haven't yet.

Karl Urban's performance apparently made Leonard Nimoy cry. In a very excellent way.

Also, I very much loved the service to the fans of Ensign Ricky.

And how cute was sewenteen-year-old Baby Chekhov? He was so damn PROUD of himself whenever he got something right! (And the voice recognition joke was hilarious.)

"ёмаё" - Something roughly equivalent in vehemence (if not in meaning) to "holy shit!" (I forget what it literally translates to.) I caught it cause it was the first swear(ish) in Russian I learned... well, that or заткнись (shut up) I don't remember which one harinezumi taught me first. The hysterical giggle was cause it was kind of exactly the sort of thing a seventeen year old kid who just did something _awesome_ would say. Really, I just wanted to pick up Chekhov and his accent and pinch both their cheeks through the entire movie.
