Calm after the storm

It's pretty dead today. Mom's really tired after all the festivities yesterday so she's all asleep. Not sure where Dad disappeared to, but he's probably in the city nursing his stock portfolio. Sister's gone to get her hair fried (ah, black hair and the maintenance thereof *sigh*) we're going to burn our Lane Bryant certificates later. Mmm, sexy pants.

Dad forgot to get a Flash card for the camera, which is kind of a moot point because the battery charger doesn't work anyway. I'm going to see if I can use this as an excuse to level up to higher megapixelage. Spent about half an hour explaining how digital cameras work to my mother this morning, who is always fascinated by whatever I can tell her about computery stuff.

Shockingly I haven't been driven crazy yet. Who are these people, and what have you done with my actual nervewracking family?

All right, I've had it. One more night and I am so out of here. Taking the train back though, as the bus aggravated me to tears coming down.

and I'm bored silly. Not heading out shopping as planned, so I'm going to sit here with Mom, install Sim City 4 for her (we'll see how long she lasts with it) and play it. And post long rambly odes to boredom.

Later I think I'm going to abscond to what used to be my room and read the rest of Lord Foul's Bane.
