kjpepper: (towel)
I did actually make it down to Haven tonight. am quite glad I did - I think I flailed much of the bad jitteries out of my system. The music mix was decent, much of the Haven top 40 was played, some of which I enjoyed (gods, I love belly dancing-esque to The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove. And Closer.) One annoying point of the night was thefact that after I rejoiced in the opportunity to wear queen sized fishnets they turned out to stretch a tad too much and thus were crawling down my ass all night. Can't win with tights, it seems. *sigh* so that curtailed my flailing a bit. But my new boots survived the night and no sprains to speak of, so those were definitely a success.

Saw [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat, greeting her with a rousing "oh, fuck!" as i'd forgotten to bring her copy of Futurepop Phantom. Next time, sweetie. Loved the miniskirt.

Missed [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah. Could swear she was planning to come tonight too... Oh well, no bobble dance for me tonight.

After Haven, [livejournal.com profile] gossamer_gull and I went down to Denny's to get post clubbing munchies, and were quite amused by the tableful of geeky gamergoths at a few tables near us having quite audible discussions about seriously funny shit. Occasionally we called commentary back to them, to their amusement... especially as one of them at one point said "Wow, this is a first - everyone here is talking about my penis!" and g.g. turned around and yelled "Oh, so you're making small talk then?" She is just priceless some nights. We also got our Fisher Price My Favorite Waitress as well, Jen, who didn't charge us for the cappucinos we had, so we left her a fat tip and I wrote "We Love You Jennifer!" on the bill :)

Fairly good night overall. Am kinda wired. Debating whether to just fucking stay up tonight, as I only have about three hours worth of sleep left in my evening and I have to stay up until the yarn dries. (damn smoky clubs...)

Nah. Bed sounds good.
kjpepper: (batshit tenna (talk to spooky))
ho. li. crap. it's. COLD.

I write this from the Smith student center, as I had to stop and let the bit of exposed face, fingertips (gagh, even in cushy mittens!) and thighs thaw out some before continuing on my way home.

Okay, really, enough of this below zero wind chill advisory bullshit. Bring on the upper twenties and the snow, goddamn it. What does this look like? Antarctica? Or even better, Chicago? Sheesh.

Ah well. I'm mostly thawed out. Back on my merry way towards home, ho(mo)s, kitties, Queer as Folk, and a whistlin' teakettle.

([livejournal.com profile] timarok discusses the unexpected success of his web site project with his dad...)
parental unit: What about that girl in Northampton that was helping you out? She going to get anything out of this?

[livejournal.com profile] timarok: I don't know. I don't think she'd want anything out of it, really.

parental unit: well why doesn't she just join the Air Force and do all of their web sites?

[livejournal.com profile] timarok: Um, Dad, she's not the military type.

parental unit: Why not? She can't run the mile and a half in under thirteen?

[livejournal.com profile] timarok: Um, well, she probably could... if someone were chasing her...
[at this point in the retelling, your faithful editor interjects with an amused "You bastard. Fuck you."]
parental unit: Well then what? Oh, she's a little tight in the jeans, eh?

[livejournal.com profile] timarok: Well... That's not the reason either. Dad, come on, she lives in Northampton. For a reason...?

parental unit: [dawn breaks] Ohhhh... [pause, then smarmily] But she likes the Tim, does she?

[livejournal.com profile] timarok: [laughing] Yes, Dad. She likes the Tim.

I'm going to be laughing my ass off (and blushing) about that one all night, I think.

And I can so do a mile and a half in fifteen! Provided, of course, I take enough Albuterol to knock out a horse beforehand... and probably afterwards too...
