kjpepper: (contemplative hex)
Livejournal polls are such fun. :) So I decided to make a new one, as it is just about time to pull the yarn out of my hair again. Well timed, as there is a Buffy marathon in the works for next weekend and that's perfect for rebraiding it, being that it means hours and hours on [livejournal.com profile] gossamer_gull and [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah's couch with nothing to do with my hands. Except I can't decide what color or length to go with. So I leave it to you guys.

[Poll #234498]
kjpepper: (cute goth me)
Nothing says Saturday morning like a bowl full of sweet cereal and a badly dubbed Japanese alien invasion movie from the sixties being vociferously derided by a guy in a union suit and a couple of smart mouthed robots. :)

Life is good.

meh.

My throat isn't sore exactly. But it does feel weirdly sandpapery way down in the windpipe. And I can't laugh without exploding into consumptive sounding coughing.

This, compounded by bad mood, isn't the most pleasant thing in the world.

Other than the odd suspiciously bronchial goodness, today was fairly good. Spent much of it with [livejournal.com profile] sundart - MST3K (a painfully horrible movie, even to the 'bots) in the morning, followed by some naked shenanigans, and then a trip downtown for used music ([livejournal.com profile] sundart) and mysterious package contents (me). We left the house sort of in a rush as we got started late, and I was wicked crabby at first because I was blood hungry and rumbly, so we stopped at State Street for lunch and munchies. Their wraps are the shizznit - is it one of those regional english things to call them strollers? Anyway, rest of trip was highlighted by a stop at [livejournal.com profile] spacecrime (how the hell is it that I start reading The Magic of Recluce and then [livejournal.com profile] sundart starts collecting the rest of the series?) and a stop at Silverscape Designs to ogle the pretty, artistic sparklies. I love how their ring settings are far more interesting than the traditional band-and-something-wickedly-sporklike. :)

On the way home, perhaps inspired by the trip to Silverscape, [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I discussed the whole ring idea, what metal to get it in, what stones if any, inscriptions, cost... and then we got into this whole long thing about the whole weddings per se have too much of a squick factor to deal with, but we definitely wanted some sort of party to go with the rings - everyone else gets one, after all - and then it got kinda convoluted and then our brains exploded so we decided to shelve the idea until we figured some stuff out. Anybody have any insight on ring prices, especially custom designed stuff?

felt kinda like death this evening and sad, so I rolled up in bed and went to sleep for a while. Woke up and talked to [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch briefly, having this ridiculous conversation about having the ability to fart roses (I always seem to have those sorts of conversations with him for some reason) and why the long stems and the thorns would make this a distinctly painful ability.

going to work on mix CDs now. Maybe.
