awake...

at 7:05 on a saturday. That's just sick.

Watched Solaris and Cowboy Bebop, the Movie last night (both were good, tho Solaris was slow and depressing and probably not what I needed to be watching), but by the time I was done did not have the impetus to go return them plus the queerboys. So, I'll prolly jump on my bike at some point this morning and do that, then... maybe I'll ride off into the cold for a little while. Hmm. Must check Spring Break hours for Olin.

I did go to bed obscenely early for me, that's probably why I'm up now. After Solaris, I was kinda curled up on the living room loveseat that I've kinda taken over, just kinda staring into space and being all unhappy. So [livejournal.com profile] sundart dragged me off to bed for some comforting spoon time, but somehow it didn't seem to help, and I went to sleep and had weird dreams, one of which involved me being the the shower and [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess coming in to pee (which she does sometimes) and asking me to make sure the door was locked when I got out, except before I got out in barged Miracle Max and Valerie (our landlords, not the characters from TPB) rasping at us loudly that they weren't staying long, just that they wanted to fix something about the bathroom door, except I was all like "except I'm in here right now!" and they were like "oh. We'll come back later then. We have to tinkah with the cah for a bit anyways." (You have to love the mid-Massachusetts accent...)

So I'm awake now. Concept.

wonder what [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess got at the store last night, and if it's edible. I wonder if they'll let you order a case of strawberry O'Soy online... Course, I could bike to bread an assface and get some... except I still can't find my bike lock. *growl*

... to the appropriate folx, so maybe if I post it, word will get to the requisite pairs of ears. Anyhoo. John Waters, the guy responsible for Divine's entire career, the cinematic interest held by Baltimore, and some truly fucked up movies (one of which filmed in Smellovision(where available)), is doing a lecture at the Academy of Music in Northampton on May 3rd.

Mark thy calendars. Demented FOREVER! Demented FOR LIFE! *bounce*

*facepalm* Under what rocks do these people live before they decide to crawl out and plague society at large?

GORGEOUS day out there, and after a nap and a quick chat with [livejournal.com profile] jaicat, I'm feelin' spunky. And [livejournal.com profile] sundart found her bike lock and some keys for it, so as soon as I drag some clothes on, I'm heading out with Bellenoire to CVS, Pleasant Street, and then off to the norwottuck trail, there to hit Bread and Circus and bing home massive amounts of O'Soy. My soul demands Strawberry. Though knowing my luck there won't be any there when I get there. meh.

Ah well. The ride will be well worth it anyways. Whee!

Yeeeowch!

I forgot the cardinal rule of temperate zone weather. cloudless sky + winter(ish) + wind = cold as mammoth shit in a glacier. Jeezus.

Despite the seriously frozen fingers (mental note: gloves = a winner is you)  I did have a good ride... though ow, I should really get out there more often. 16 miles of mostly flat road shouldn't kill me like this. I'm sore in both arms and across the shoulders, and my thighs feel a bit like they've ballooned to twice their size, which is amusing considering what size they are to begin with. Still, with german angst techno plugged into my ears it was a fairly enjoyable trip. Just friggin' cold. And there are still a couple of frozen patches on the norwottock trail I had to dodge.

Weirdness/randomness for the day:
I have declared this officially be-nice-to-my-insides week, and trying to stick to eating stuff that won't make my ass explode (with the exception of whatever [livejournal.com profile] sundart plans on cooking up with that buttermilk later) of course, within an hour of deciding that as I wandered through Thornes I ran across a gaggle of girl scouts armed with cookies. Oh yeah, March. Cookie season. *facepalm* My ass, sadly, won over my freakishly intense desire for Samoas *drool*... don't think bits of caramel coated coconut counts as being good to my intestines.

seriously dead dog dumped under 91. Never understood how roadkill could be both gross and sad at the same time.

wow, don't do the trail heading west at just before sunset. Ow my eyes, ow the glass, ow. On the other hand, you have to wonder how many beer bottles went into that trail.

I think I'm going to wash some dishes, and then curl up in bed with The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant and occasionally poke the swollen muscles between my knees and my hips for the rest of the evening. And drink mad amounts of water.

Curling up in bed with the intent to do anything quiet is dangerous when you're a) tired b) kinda sad. Got maybe ten pages further in The Ilearth War and zzzzzzzzzzzz. Not even the tempting baked goods and dinner consisting of baked potatoes (which, while baked, don't exactly fall into the same category as, say, ginger-applesauce cake) could roust me until I spontaneously woke up about ten minutes ago.

going to have a small piece of aformentioned ginger thingie, then back to bed with me I think...

I have Yoko Kanno's "Call Me Call Me" (must look up the singer, as it's going on some mixes) and Deine Lakaien's "Where You Are (the VNV remix)" chasing each other around in my head. Not exactly helpful moodwise. Bad brain.

I should light my six candle fixture more often. The light cast by the red glass cups actually goes quite well with the glitter lamp.

g'night.
