Some part of the mystery solved...
May. 17th, 2004 12:22 pmYou know, by all accounts I've got a naturally perfect period. My cycle is EXACTLY 28 days, and then four-ish days of aggravation. You would think, with such clockwork regularity, that I would be able to predict with some accuracy when it is due to show up, and the two days previous when I turn into psycho bondage bunny from hell. Except usually without the actual bondage and the bunnies.
Anyway today I was rather surprised then once the calendar was checked, amused. Though I am rather annoyed that graduation weekend fell smack in the PMS time bracket. Talk about your bad timing. No wonder I was well night homicidal.
Anyway, last night, after gratefully collapsing for a couple of hours after all of the crapola was done, was fairly good.
sundart and
birkwelch made a much needed grocery run, and came back with ingredients for
beatgoddess to work her kitchen fagwitch magic, and whipped up some really tasty chicken/rice/stringbean concoction and OMG her trifle... She hasn't made trifle since two houses ago, what the fuck? anyway, it was soooo tasty, and we were all hanging out chilling, and it felt just so normal and welcome. We hadn't done the family dinner thing since... shit. Pretty much all year. I hadn't realized how much I'd missed it.
After
sundart and
birkwelch retired for the night (though apparently they were actually up processing some stuff and ... :) ) beat and I stayed up and watched Beauty and the Beast, which I hadn't watched in years, and Independence Day. I was amused - watching disney movies with beat is always a problem because of course we're going to make ass and wang jokes through the entire movie. I wonder if the special edition DVD is still kicking around, I think I'd like to see the IMAX version they put out. And ID4... I don't know, every so often, despite the NYC geographic mistake that bothers me every time I see it, I'm just in the mood for it. That movie is just so surprising for what's basically an action blockbuster - I've always been surprisingly touched by how much heart and humor was written into it and how much you actually come to care about the main characters. I'm always a little sheepish to admit that it's one of those movies I cried at the end of when I saw it the first time I saw it (the July 4th it came out, I remember going with my sister to see it) and I still get a little choked up when I watch it now. Plus they did a really good job with the special effects for the time, there are only a few spots where it looks dated. So I was glad when I watched it again last night.
After the movies, the last thing I really remember is watching part of a special about bears, and then the next thing I knew
sundart was gently shaking me awake, as I'd fallen asleep on the loveseat (again) with my computer on my lap.
Heading out to the mall with
birkwelch in a few, but I have to eat breakfast and tame the fro first. :) Hmm. Well, there's a little bit of a can of worms in that direction, but I have neither the time or the inclination to get into it right now so maybe later.
Sleep is good. Cramps are not. Ah well, C'est ma vie, and since it's in general pretty ok right now, I'm not going to complain too much... ;)
