Today was low key and low stress and thats how I like/wanted it.

After falling asleep on the loveseat with laptop (again, though apparently this time I had the foresight to at least close it) I was awakened by [livejournal.com profile] sundart who prodded me until I was at least stretched out on the couch, and then by a wandering [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch, who probably should know better than to wear shoes on a wood floor when people are sleeping... >:) By that time it was around 11:30 and around time for me to roll on out of bed anyway. So I did. :)

we meandered over to the mall... he had actual things to purchase, I was going for poops and hahas mostly. Noticed on the way that they seem to be opening ANOTHER Japanese restaurant in downtown Northampton. (...) Once there I saw [livejournal.com profile] filthyassistant at the comic store, waved, but was sorry to find she had left when I meandered back over about forty minutes later. ah well. Hello dear! I lost you after the silliness yesterday, how long were you in the silly circle? I didn't get mine until nearly the end, waaaah.

Other than the laser pointers and the new swanky silver everything notebook I got at Target, it was a pretty cheap afternoon. I mostly hung around and scribbled notes on my current emotional state (ragged in a few places, surprisingly hale and whole in others) a few meandering thoughts on love, my general impatience with a certain couple that seem to have a little trouble letting go of a few minor practicalities that are rather harming their chances at continuing their relationship, and my own general weirdness about the current state of affairs. I've been so weird emotionally lately - distant and cold in places which is NOT like me, overspent in others, frustrated in general as so much of me shut down in the last few months and I'm discovering that I still haven't rebooted in several crucial places. I think I just blew a few fuses really and just need time to heal and rest. Which I took today, and will be taking tomorrow.

Yes, graduation pics will be posted soon, though not very many - most of the ones from yesterday were taken for the benefit of sisters and biofam and I personally think a lot of them are stupid, so I'll pick out a couple that I actually like. Wish I'd actually taken the camera and gotten some shots of the bagpipers. Ah well.

Okay. the whole sleeping until 11am is a wee bit counterproductive, I think. Must stop that.

Progress report on the to do list:

  • omnipresent cleaning - actually the house is pretty good right now. Just dusty and cluttered in a couple of places.
  • go through and organize the desk drawers and other crap I've got in the study
  • type up the snippets of story I've been scribbling into my notebooks during class
  • go though clothing and rampantly salvation army the stuff I don't wear and am realistically never gonna.
  • get g.g.'s Christmas present framed. I still haven't managed to get this done, damn it.
  • Finish the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever
  • Make the "Arabian Nights" mix
  • Make the superbatshit extended booty mix
  • Make some mix tapes for various people with tape decks in their cars
  • See if there are any beadwork projects I should finish up  eh, putting this one on the back burner for now I think.
  • Start a new, mold-free generation of strawberries and aloe. - likewise with this. I'm having enough trouble keeping George watered.
  • Scrub the kitchen floor. But first, buy a decent mop.
  • Write, damn you, write!
  • Resurrect the MSFC web site with complete (and searchable) archives
  • Send [livejournal.com profile] sapphorama that corset/dress sketch I made in my notebook during english exam review a couple of weeks ago. - I also send [livejournal.com profile] darkling_dreams her cosplay pic that I'd been promising to edit for ages.

On top of that, I have to find some way of paying the rent before next month, learn to drive, or more specifically, learn to make sharp turns and avoid school buses, start seriously biking, deal with and decide what kind of relationship I still want with my biofam, and a few other things. Oh, and find someplace to retake Linear Algebra in the area. (again...) - hmm. need to get my ass cracking on that.

No rest for the wicked I guess. :) Isn't that always the way?

I need to reset my sleeping schedule, though. One of the things I want to do is to go biking first thing every morning (except the mornings after Haven, if I go), but I've been sleeping away the mornings, which is seriously weird behavior for me. I suppose I do need the sleep, but argh, still. I guess I'm just going to have to tell sundart to make sure I'm vertical when she leaves for work tomorrow. 7 is still late for me, but damn it, it's better than 11.

Anyway, today, I want to deal with the dumb looking grad pics and burn them onto CD so I can drop them off at the photo place and then mail them to the folx. I also want to update my web site and go through the several books of clip art we possess already for a project I want to do, post the latest list of junk mail that I started working with during finals before quitting in the middle (that'll give y'alls something to look forward to!), and then I want to empty out my camera and start test running for the (extra)ordinary project I want to do when I get a better camera. :) Possibly Havening. Haven't decided yet.

but first, breakfast. Actually I missed breakfast, and I'm well nigh missing elevenses. ;)

curious...

anyone else out there play Puzzle Pirates? I noticed it's becoming my time-waster of choice these days.

Young stdds - I don't think I'm alone in saying that stds, despite their youth, are just not making me inclined to go to this web site.

reflecting padishah Do U Think U Still... - This was the first time I'd seen the word "padishah" outside of the context of a Frank Herbert novel. Considering I don't think my junk mail concerns the spice trade, for logs and guffaws, I looked it up. Apparently it's a title given to members of the royal families of Turkey and Iran. Go figure. Still not sure what it's doing in my junk mail box though.

HOMETOWN BEAVERS - Now that's what I call playing for the team! ;)

Make you little guy...Big! - We are Flintstone Kids, ten million strong... and growing...

word to your mother compressive - Okay, so now a team of crazed lemurs, Bobby Brown and Vanilla Ice are writing these subject lines?

decease vassar - Well that's not very Seven Sisterly!

NASTY FEMININE INSERTIONS - What did your mother tell you about opening that umbrella in the house?

barth - Ah, memories of Nickelodeon when it was still good. Bring on the slime, the Barthburgers and the Introduction to the Opposites!

via-gra..is..out..of..fa,shion - oh good, does that mean that I'll stop getting six emails a day about it?

impresario somnambulists from 6081 - You know, that suddenly explains a lot about Cirque du Soleil.

roller coaster 9 tenors - I don't think they make pavorotti sized roller coasters. Especially not nine of them.

hockey player gonads over 05 - Well, I hope the gonads are over five. We wouldn't want a thriving trade in immature gonads. and why hockey players specifically? Is it because they come pre-refrigerated? The world may never know.

<shameless plug>Past Junk Mail can either be found on my web site (sporadically updated), or in my Memories (slightly more likely to be updated)</shameless plug>

Well, of all the graduation pics taken on Sunday, this one's the only one I happen to like:

Picture here )

The rest are pretty dorkolicious. But my parents'll like them.
