kjpepper: (yarr!!)
Don't laugh, but I finally made enough money to outfit my little pirate in something other than rags and stripey knickers (not stripey niggers, as [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess misheard me last night). She looks so cute I had to take a screenshot and make her into an icon. :)

Not much to report today... I've had these odd shoulder pains for the last two days (not weeks, as I originally posted), especially the left one doesn't raise a certain way without severe soreness. I'd thought I'd slept on it funny but two days later it still hurts, so I have to wonder if I pulled it somehow over the weekend. I can't imagine how though...

Didn't manage to get out of the house and all errand-y until about 2 ish, when I finally dragged [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch out of the house with me. stopped at the Smith post office, returned my key, set up mail forwarding, went to the bookstore and bought those earbuds w/volume (whoohoo! music while biking and no sweaty ears!), then meandered downtown to get prints made for the 'rents of grajimitation pics. Also picked up astringent, batteries, and a pack of purple thank you notes - I need to get back into the habit of written correspondance and there's no time like the present. :) Picked up the prints, stopped back at the PO to overnight them to the parents. That should make 'em happy tomorrow. On the way had a chat with [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch about [livejournal.com profile] sundart, and how much I worry about the two of them. That went fairly well, though I think I may have to check in at some later point in his visit, just to make sure he got the point.

Came home and found [livejournal.com profile] timarok online. Chatted with him briefly, left the conversation mildly unsettled (not his fault just still processing, I guess.) *sigh* So much stupidity, so many ways it could've worked out differently. And that's all I'm saying about that.

Other than that, fairly quiet evening. [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess is out running about, and [livejournal.com profile] sundart, [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch and I had Chinese and watched Shrek, since we're going to go to Shrek 2 tomorrow. Boy you can tell we've seen that movie a few times. I've almost gotten to Princess Bride level of quoting ability with it. :) "When a monster in the bush grabs a lady by the tush, that's bad. (That's bad, that's bad, that's bad!)" Played some Puzzle Pirates (hence the icon) and excused myself from thinking for much of the night.

Well, I now have my earbuds and I've found the key to my bike lock. No excuses, tomorrow morning I ride. :D As for tonight, not sure what I'm up to, but it should involve sleep at some point.

another uninspired, unmotivated afternoon, really. Got a little writing done and some cleanup work on various projects, but nothing big. Not much little either - didn't even have it together enough to put together V and R's thank you cards. :) Ah well, something to do when we get home.

Meh, I was supposed to be out of the house an ice age ago too.

It's been so long since I used Sea Breeze on my face, years really. Holy mother of all creation, but that stuff stings worse than washing your naughty bits in Dr. Braunner's. Yowsa! See if that don't make you feel more powerful... jeez.

A chat with timarok this afternoon led me to rediscover something from my childhood, namely Paul Robeson. Mom had/has this ongoing obsession with this guy, probably one of the most legendary basses out there, except no one's really heard of him becuase he was around in the early part of the last century when racism was still publicly vogue...

shit. I gotta go. Movie in half an hour and I still gotta stop at the comic store.

Did I mention I was supposed to be out of the house by now? Gang aft agley, I tell you.

I now own the tenth and last volume of Transmetropolitan.

A most satisfying end to the most fun I've ever had with a graphic novel series. Spider, we love you. And thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] filthyassistant, for introducing me to this madness.

Of course, in celebration, or maybe in memorium, I typed in "bowel disruptor" into google image search and came up with this.
