They say home is where you hang your hat, well I think in my case home is where you have internet access. :) I seriously have spent more time in the Bolthole in the past week than I have in the past four months. It's starting to feel like I live here again. Like I even got grossfairies today, which is nice because I really did have Old Mother Hubbard's fridge for a while there. :)

EPEEN is so going back, and I'm increasingly glad about it, as she threw yet another interesting error when starting up this afternoon, something about PCI memory allocation that prevented the computer from booting at all until I heaved a huge sigh, opened the case and shuffled the cards around again so they were back in their original slots. Jesus fuck me. But she's behaving herself for the moment, and hopefully will until EPEEN 2.0 shows up.

ha ha so on Friday we had this big house meeting after dinner about finding and then moving into a new place and then [livejournal.com profile] sundart went poking around on Umass CSHRC (or whatever the acronym is) yesterday and found a PERFECT house available now. *shakes head* This morning we walked down to look at it, as the listing had no pictures and we were hoping it would be a dump so we'd feel better about not being able to move into it ass right away... no. It's freaking gorgeous and less than three blocks away. You can see the windows of QT9 from it, that's how close it is. After grumbling about this for a bit we realized that there was indeed something wrong with it (the property is for sale) and we now feel a lot better, but sundart is forbidden from using her amazing home fu until April at least. :) Hestia/Vesta and Brigid loves that girl, I swear. Seriously every time we've needed to move we've found something in less than a week that was more or less perfect. I wish I had that sort of skill in real life - the closest I ever get is on Warcraft when mobs like to drop bags for me.

The rest of today is my own, and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I know I have to head back to QT9 at some point as C is making steak (YAY), but until then I'm somewhat at loose ends. I could play warcrack or clean the house or do laundry and or do all of the above. I probably should try to get the house reasonably clean, seeing as it's a sty. *chuckle* I could just be lazy... I haven't really had a chance to just lay about and do nothing by myself for a while, at least not when the laying around and doing nothing wasn't accompanied/caused by severe mental distress.

I should, at least, make a to-do list for the week. I have stuff I want to do, not least of which go see Dreamgirls, which I STILL haven't bestirred myself to go see yet, and considering in all likelihood I'm on pass restriction next week I'd better get on that. ;)

Masterpiece Theater (curse you Sesame Street, I always want to write that as Monsterpiece Theater) is considerably less stuffy than I remember. While randomly channel surfing [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat ran across the fact that they were broadcasting a BBC adaptation of Phillip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke, so we stopped there and watched it. Next week they're doing Dracula. Excuse me, when did Masterpiece Theater get sexy?? So much for the days of I Claudius and endless reinterpretations of things written by Brontës. Not that I, Claudius wasn't gripping in a highbrow painfully Roman sort of way... ;) Still, Philip Pullman is quite a departure from Robert Graves. Now if they would just rerun Tipping the Velvet so I can watch the bits I missed... hmm that might still be a mite too sexy for PBS. Still. I miss Alistair Cook(i)e. And the long intro with the panning around the library of immaculately maintained leatherbound books and the full Mouret Fanfare. That 8 bar abridged nonsense isn't cutting it for me.

Regarding that other thing on TV tonight... Okay, I'm kinda hamming up the disdain, cause I used to get into football during Super Bowl season growing up. It's like that and the NBA finals were the only sports that ever got watched at my house, with the exception of the occasional Mets game. I am rather sorry I missed the halftime show as I heard Prince gave quite a performance, and I'm happy to know that the Colts won, as the Chicago fans were utter dicks to New Orleans during the playoffs. Friendly fan rivalry, my ass, there is NO excuse for holding up signs that say "WE WILL FINISH WHAT KATRINA STARTED." Bad Chicago, no biscuit, and I was totally rooting for you too before that. Way to cheat me out of taking great pleasure out of making endless SNL references about DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BURZ. Sheesh.

Last thought of the day... on a cold winter night, nothing beats having a plushy red bathrobe to hang around in. All I need is a 40oz of hot chocolate and some diamond studded leopard fur bunny slippers and I'd seriously be the world's most comfortable pimp right now. :D

... okay. On that note, I'm going the hell to bed.
