Some notes to self
Aug. 31st, 2007 12:00 pm- Send the guy at Kitty's Coffee on Court street a postcard when you get home. What a sweetheart.
- Thank the goddess for public libraries. I'm sitting in the main one in downtown cincinnati (someday it will take me less than three tries to spell this town's name correctly) basically having an information fix, which right now is more important than my coffee fix. And for sweet librarians.
- getting around an unknown city when you a) don't drive b) don't have scads of money sucks. Especially when the hotel the family has picked out seems to be in East Bumblefudge away from everything else on the other side. *whine*.
- I don't know if I'm going to make it to Faire, kyri - there seems to be no way of getting there or back without driving. Poop. Well, this probably won't be my last trip here, I'll have to save it for next time.
- On the bright side, I seem to remember this city having a positively amazing zoo. bellarisa, interested for sunday?
- In more annoying news, I need to get out of denial and admit that though the jeans I'm wearing were uncomfortably tight when I bought them, they are now way too big. Low riders aren't supposed to sling quite that low. Gonna have to find some smaller pants while I'm here, because these have been crawling down my butt all day.
- I don't remember this city at all. Granted it was about fifteen years since I was last here, but Grandma and Mom were pretty much homebodies and we stuck to Grandma's house a lot. Unless there was a family reunion going on we didn't really get out much, and even when we did it was to places like the zoo, or Kings Island. Not really in the city itself. So I was more than a little lost when the Tank dropped me downtown.
- I reiterate - thank the goddess for public libraries and kind librarians.
