I know this defeats the purpose of anxiety dreams, but for once, do you think I could show up to an exam a) on time b) prepared to ace it? Last night after tearing around campus looking for buidings that look like buildings that could have existed at smith but don't that my exam was in, the questions were all... well, they didn't make any sense for an advanced level math first of all, which didn't matter cause I didn't know how to answer any of them.

Just saying... might be nice.

Just for [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat, though anyone who watches wrestling should be amused.

1) I'm fiending for butter cookies / tea biscuits. I'm currently eating some that are stamped "Liebniz: butterkeks" and immediately thinking "Lol, horde cookies."

2) Also WoW related: I read on Wikipedia that one of the 8 gates of Seoul, Korea burnt down yesterday, or at least the wooden top part did. I actually hadn't heard about them until hearing about the fire, and they're actually really neat... but something about their architecture continued to nag at me until I realized that the gate into Darnassus from Teldrassil looks almost EXACTLY like them.

yes I know. I am geek, hear me roar.

3) "I was down in the U-bend, thinking about death..." well, u-bend aside, as I am not moaning myrtle... I was actually thinking about it this morning... not my own, mind, just in general... how no matter how much warning you get, how much you prepare, it's always sudden, and always comes as a shock to those who have lost someone. I guess we humans are just not prepared for something so irrevocable, so permanant... One moment a person is here, the next... gone forever. It's crazy. People on the outer perimeters of my circles have lost or are in the process of losing people close to them, and it just made me think about that... how we're never prepared on any level to imagine a total absence of a person until it happens.

still... *lights candles* Thoughts, blessings and prayers. You know who you are.

So, in anticipation? dread? of the May 1st postage hike, [livejournal.com profile] retsuko has proposed what she's calling a stamp rally - ie, in a bid to use up all the old stamps lying around before May first (thus eliminating the need to buy those horrid 1 cent ones), you exchange letters/recipes/interesting articles/funny cartoons/cards/notes/whatever strikes your fancy with... people.

I like this idea, I miss writing silly letters, and I have a drawer full of stickers I used to use exclusively on letters that are collecting dust. But the idea isn't so much to write soul baring letters to folk, the point is to use up them thar about to be obsolete stamps and in the process make someone else smile.

so. You want silliness from me in the mail? comment with your address (they're screened) a link to your address if you keep it somewhere online, or email it to me (kjpepper @ gmail)
