Your call is important to us...

That's pretty special. I was once on hold calling Fredricks of Hollywood (don't ask) and they were playing a Muzak version of the Kinks' "Wild Thing", I shit you not.
I'm currently on hold with the MassRMV (my permit expired last week, I need to check and see if I need to bring any funky ID before going to get it renewed). *shudder* Not that it matters, because the hold music kinda just flows from one blandness to the next, but they're not even playing whole songs, they're just kinda playing one thing, fading it out abruptly in the middle, and playing the next thing. Ick. I like it better when they play actual stuff instead of this easy listening crap.
There used to be a station in NYC (WPAT) that was dedicated to Muzak and (seasonally) Christmas carols. They'd play it in Pathmark all the time. About ten years ago they went Latin, though. Meh. Then again around the same time NY's one country station (WKTU) went Dance/Techno/Electronica, it was very weird. Ah well, as long as they don't mess with Z100. :)
I hate being on hold. feh.
