Down to the wire
Apr. 29th, 2004 03:03 pmhad my last two CS classes today. They were excruciating (one presentation I was kindabutnotreally prepared for, the other... well, cider helps even the worst of things, I think, but the class itself wasn't bad.)
I've got until next friday to get caught up, everything turned in, collapsed, nervousbreakdowned, done. And then on Monday I find out if I get to order that white dress from the Pyramid collection and say to everyone okay, ha ha, just kidding, I AM grajimatating on Sunday, though if you'd asked me this morning I would have told you not to save the date for me. Now... I can do this. Really.
I kinda want to charge into the sunshine armed with Nomad and Bellenoire and just ride and ride until my hips and/or my batteries give out. It's beautiful out there. Alas, I had maybe two hours of sleep this morning, so I think I may opt for passing out. I've been trying to find things to keep me occupied between 4 and 6, which I've playfully taken to calling the witching hours, and I find that sleeping does the trick nicely. Not to mention it's just the right time of year where I can curl up under my blankets with a couple of fat happy cats curled up on the bed with me, sleeping directly in a warm sunbeam...
Still, considering the pretty appalling crap I've been stuffing myself with over the past two weeks as stress relief, I should definitely get back in the long distance biking saddle. Really, I'm amazed I haven't gone into diabetic shock yet. Sugar bad. Sugar BAD! I mean, most of the time I don't even like how it tastes, I just eat it out of habit and because it's friggin everywhere, and there is something about academic stress that makes my stomach scream "FEED ME BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING, BITCH." But considering how sick that one bag of M&Ms made me last night, I think I'm ready to seriously give up the poison for real. I mean, ferfuckssake, I've stopped putting it in my coffee even, and it doesn't taste half bad. Heh. Wouldn't you know it, maybe soon I will be able to say I take it black as midnight on a moonless night if anyone asks.
That reminds me. Need to watch Twin Peaks again, methinks, it's been years. After the buffyathon, queerbots and the Xfiley goodness are over, though. Anyone up for joining me? Of course there will be pie and donuts... Maybe after that, Bab5? So much good TV on DVD, so little time. Who needs cable? Now if only they'd release Samurai Jack and Modern Marvels on DVD, I'd be all set. Oh, and HBO's Real Sex and Taxicab Confessions...
Sigh. Warm sultry weather. Definitely the season for listening to Morcheeba's Big Calm and Other Broody TripHop that Either Makes You Want To Cry or Fuck on repeat. Hmm, mix time. ;)
