A wrinkle in Television???
May. 9th, 2004 08:09 amHoly shit, dude. They made A Wrinkle in Time into a movie!
Reasons to be excited about this:
-OMG I love this book! Probably THE reason I got into science fiction in the first place.
-Been waiting for them to do this since I was eight.
-It will be rather fascinating to see how they handle some of the visual aspects of the story
Reasons to be trepidatious about this:
-It's a TV movie. Actually, I'm not quite sure whether this is a TV movie or a miniseries. *checks* nope, 3 hour movie. And it better not be breaking cor commercials every ten minutes.
-It's put out by Disney. We all know how faithful the mouse is to the stories they adapt, and considering the book was written in the early sixties, I'm wondering how much of the plot had to suffer in terms of updating it for the current time. Plus I could imagine how much of a bitch this book was to adapt to film. I wonder what they wound up cutting?
Anyway, if anyone else is as excited/scared about this as I am, apparently it's on tomorrow on ABC on The Wonderful World of Disney. Also if anyone would be kind enough to tape this for me, it would be much appreciated - our VCR's been acting wonky lately. If it turns out by some miracle to be excellent, I'll need something to tide me over until Disney releases the DVD. :D
