bikes and cars and things that go
Jun. 13th, 2004 02:39 pmSo early this morning
sundart and I trooped outside to get the last screw holding her missized bike rack on undone. after much fidding about with hex keys that didn't fit in the screw because the head was completely stripped weird, we found an interesting six pointed star shaped thingummie that did the trick. Out popped the screw, we mounted our bikes, and hand a nice leisurely wander up to Look Park, and returned, making a pact to go riding together at least once every weekend.
screw that. I need to get off my arse and start riding again, like seriously. Like every day. And for more than just the mile and a half to and from work.
Anyway, pretty soon after we came home
athene showed up and she let me drive her Baby to Holyoke... Partially on 91, which although a little nervewracking, wasn't quite as scary as that one time I accidentally got on it with
gossamer_gull. I'm getting better at turning. Baby is a very... nice... car... :D Stopped at Petco and got some cat food so that the four fuzzy bratlings we live with won't eat us alive. Quite the friendly gesture indeed, if I hadn't forgotten it in
athene's trunk. Ah well, I have a good excuse I think - during our stopover at their place, she and
lordaerith introduced me to Avenue Q, and it's pretty hard to remember mundane things like cat food when you have a song like "The Internet is for Porn" stuck in your head.
I'm getting better at this driving thing. A little more practice, and I think I'll be able to take on the road test, say end of July? Which fits in quite well with my nefarious little plans for the end of August. I just need to conquer the little voices that constantly tell me I can't drive.
