Well, it's official. Happy Summer! (The solstice being today, of course)

It's kind of a pity today was Monday and I was completely uninspired to celebrate. The weather was gorgeous, cool, breezy, postcard blue sky... and yet I was completely uninspired. Ah well. Come Lammas, orgies will be completely inappropriate, considering that's when the God gets sacrificed.

It's weird. I'm not exactly in a bad emotional state right now, but I am feeling rather numb, and occasionally, cold. Again this is not a bad thing exactly, just different. I'm used to thinking and operating from the heart but since that part of me seems to have a "down for routine maintenance" sign across it, I'm a little bit at a loss as to what to do with myself. All my passion, inspiration and drive come from me being a highly emotional and occasionally volatile creature, so I'm feeling much like a hollow shell of myself. Hence the drifting apathy of my recent days.

I've started to fall into a bit of a rut, too. Get up, go to work, come home around 2, fart about until 3, fall asleep, wake up under the dual influence of afternoon sunshine beaming directly into my eyeballs and the cheery mass-murder inspiring notes of our unusually punctual neighborhood ice cream truck... I have several projects I could be working on in the afternoons too, but it just never seems to happen. Of course summers are always when I fall into such things...

ah well. I am a mercurial creature. I'm sure I'll bounce back from this too.

I think being in the house may be contributing to your problem, too. I had fully intended to write when I got home last night. What did I end up doing? Watching you play pirates and finishing my book and eating pizza. None of which are bad, mind you. But they're not what I meant to do.

Maybe you should try taking one of your projects with you in the morning and setting up camp elsewhere for a few hours to get things done. :)
