What does fun project at work + [livejournal.com profile] gossamer_gull and [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah showing up at 1 to kidnap me from the office + finding exactly the small item(s) downtown I needed (even if it did take going to three different stores) + being whisked away to Bash Bish Falls + dinner at Friendly's equal?

One fabulous day, I would say. :)

So yeah. I got to work on something really fun for work this morning, and then, tempting me with their tank top wearing charms and offers of cherry coke, g.g. and inle and I set out for some adventure... and found some!

First as I needed to grab and assemble a small bit of Pagany goodness downtown at the Mercantile, Goddess of the Seven Sisters and Epigee, we did a quick and dirty run through downtown (and g.g. probably redeemed the pedestrian population in the eyes of the drivers laughing at her crosswalk antics) then piled into Otto for the drive west to Bash Bish, where we were thoroughly entertained with a long ago made mix tape of snippets from inle's favorite radio show (all I'm going to say is ARRRWAARRRRAARRRGH!) and the twistiness of the drive... and then the hike down itself was fun. It's a pretty steep climb down, and I did fall on my ass once and wrenched my knee, but not badly enough to hurt. And we did have to deal with some fellow hikers with a lack of social skills that couldn't see the logic in us taking pictures where we were ("Where's the photo op here?").

We did get down to the falls and boy howdy they were pretty! I wished I'd had my camera otherwise I'd post pictures. Though if we'd come back to the house for my camera I also would have been wearing shoes more suited to hiking and not my comfy but treadless Reeboks. I digress though. We spent a little time being silly and posing for fun pictures on the rocks, and then inle and g.g. explored a little further down into the rocks and the little cascades while I sort of basked in the white noise and my own thoughts near the path... We were beset by a group of Russian kids while we were there, three guys with two girls in clothing that was way too short and trendy to be good for hiking. The skinny chick in the miniskirt hopefully checked herself for ticks on her way out. Jeez. Who hikes in a miniskirt?

Oh, and then there was the guy cannonballing into one of the deeper pools. Which is dumb, considering the rocks and the NO SWIMMING signs everywhere, but damn did he look good climbing out o the water with his shorts clinging to that tight little rear end of his! the three of us shameless hussies couldn't resist cheering him on as he climbed up to do it again. We just wanted to watch him climb out of the water again. Rar.

And then there was the hike back up the hill to the car, which was very huffy and asthmatic. I swear some parts of that trail made me feel like Daemon climbing out of the Twisted Kingdom, holy crap. But we made it with no further wrenchings or other mishaps, and we collapsed into the car and went to Friendly's where we devoured much dinner.

So yeah, a good time was had by all. Such a good time that a packet of drama in my inbox when I came home didn't even phase me. Sometimes you do manage to step outside of the circles you catch yourself walking in over and over again and glean some perspective on how silly they are before resuming them, that was one of these moments.

Gonna be sore tomorrow though. Ow my ankles. And my shoulders have been friggen bothering me since Saturday, and I think this only aggravated it. Ah well. Whew! Nothing a hot shower won't fix. :)
