13th floor
Oct. 15th, 2004 03:21 pmI think I had that dream again, about the insane, ancient hotel (seems like the Plaza for some reason, even though to my memory I've never been in there) with the broken, crazed elevators and the one floor that's off limits to everyone but somehow I always end up there and it's full of scary old furniture covered in sheets and something out to get me. I've been having some varient of this dream since I was a kid, but damned if I know what it means. Sometimes I just chalk it up to growing up in a place where all of the buildings built before 1950 (which is a lot of them) are mysteriously missing floor 13, kinda like Wayside School, except not for the same reason.
And speaking of that place *sigh* I've got a bus to catch. *grumble*
two or three notes before I go.
Pinocchio's Pizza in Northampton makes a pizza similar to the Willington Pizza's Red Potato Pizza, except without the sour cream. Now if their crust was a wee bit less crispy it would be perfect.
Yet another tractor trailor + railroad bridge accident downtown this afternoon, and that would be the second one this week. They really have to fix the signage around town - I refuse to believe that there are THAT many dumb truckers out there, though I'm willing to allow for a fair amount. I swear, one of these days that's going to happen and a train's going to be going over simultaneously, and there'll be a derailment or the bridge will fall down or something. This one was pretty bad - some pretty severe damage to the top of the trailer was sustained, and it probably didn't help that the trailer was one of those canvas sides over a frame doohickeys that was bent to fuckall afterward.
There is a giant cup of soda wandering around outside of Quiznos waving at people. I have to wonder how many people first thought Aqua Teen Hunger Force had descended upon Northampton. Then again, that could've just been me.
All right, enough putting off of the inevitable. More nonsense to follow later I suppose - goodness knows I won't be sleeping. :P
