I mentioned looking for a new fantasy/horror author to try a couple of days ago, and my cousin recommended Tananarive Due, since I mentioned I liked vampire novels. Anyone heard of her/read her stuff? I'm probably going to stop by [livejournal.com profile] spacecrime and check her stuff out, but I was wondering if anyone out there had an opinion.

I've read one of her books...can't recall the title, but the spine (hardcover edition) is red. Really liked it, though I was getting past OCD at the time.

New name to me - she's interesting in a panel discussion in the Dark Matter anthology I've got out of the library and her story "Aftermoon" in it is decnt - I'd like to read a longer work by her.

My favorite writer is Richard Laymon he is mainly horror/thriller. He has written 2 vamp novels: Stake and Bite. I'd def recommend them. Then again I'd recommend all his books he's fantastic. He's been described as Stephen King without a conscience.
