high notes
Dec. 16th, 2004 02:06 amfunny, how amidst turmoil angst, gonads and strife you can find one or two moments of sheer beauty. Perhaps, when lying on the aforementioned backgrounds those shine all the brighter. Last night and tonight were like that... four vignettes stand out in my mind from the last 36 hours.
One I can't tell about cause
morlock'll kill me, but let's just say it involved a dancehall remix and the fact that reggae is guaranteed to get an Andee's certified ghettobooty moving...:)
Two was watching
sundart go from a sad stressmonkey to a giggling blushing fool in the space of her half hour lunch, which I ran to join her at this afternoon after a frustrating battle with a quicktime file at work and after hearing the said tone of her voice on the phone. I love knowing I can cheer her up with a few irreverent remarks and gentle teasing.
Three was the dimples and light literally radiating out of
sydneycat's face this evening when I surprised her with pretty blooming herbaceous objects after she got off of work.
Four was waiting for the bus to Northampton in the relative warmth of the Shortbus with
morlock's arms around me and my ear pressed against his chest, where I could hear both his heart and his voice as he softly sang along to Boyz II Men's "In the Still of the Night." Some of you may remember how guys that sing (and sing well.even when they're not trying!) convert me instantly to squish. Usually good squish, like jello. Tonight's was still good squish, though it was the squish of the slightly overwraught/tired, so I was leaking tears when I got on the bus. Still beautiful, nonetheless.
As I was walking home this evening I happened to think about my year in review post and was rather kicking myself for neglecting to mention my engagement in it. Certainly all of that kicking and squealing deserves a mention in any 2004 retrospective. *sigh* I either need to take this house completely apart and find my ring, or the sunny and I will have to replace it. Soon. I miss it and want it back, damn it.
ah well...
