Still no phone. Quietly panicking. (for those who can't see the previous entry, my phone decided to disappear between grabbing it off the coffee table getting ready to go to Haven and getting there. Which means it could still be in the house, but I like to consider worst case scenarios.) Yes, I suspended my service, just in case. Me am smart. *sigh*
Other than that, I've had a good couple of days. I did manage to get my act togetherish and go to Haven last night, and had a really good time. There was faggotry, courtesy of
beatgoddess' birthday, an astonishingly good mix of music, and damn but I love dancing in a long floaty skirt...
So weird though. I'm kinda conflicted about the whole... goth thing. Honestly I don't think I've ever declared myself actually goth or anything - maybe "socially goth" cause I like the clothes and the music, but I'm way too happy to do anything other than snark about the whole see the bat fear the bat thing... dunno, just a thought - I like black and darkness and velvet, but I think I've outgrown the gawth thing... if that makes sense. I'll stfu now. ;)
Crashed at
morlock's after club, some very happy cuddling was had. It's lovely curling up with a big
morlock shaped furnace during a winter night.
After work I met up with sydneycat for our Wednesday night movie. Tonight's feature was Kinsey. I was kinda surprised by how good this movie was. Considering the subject matter, it's no surprise that it was quite hilarious at points. But there were also moments where the movie just kinda stops its frenetic depiction of Kinsey and focuses on a secondary character long enough to hear an unexpectedly moving account of a transformative sexual experince. The branded gay boy, the senior Kinsey's story of the anti-masturbation strap, and the very last woman's coming out story kinda made me tear up a little. One for the DVD shelf when it comes out I thing.
I'm home now. Much birthday revelry is happening for The Big Faggy Giraffe of Beat.
