I think I'm back to at least 80%. I think most of the reason I was mad as hell when I got back inside was that I was tired sore and hungry... and not inclined to do any of the around-the-house shit I was planning to do owing to whiteshittage. s'ok, I found something else to do on my to-do list that made me just as happy - namely put my valentine keyboard through its paces. I'd tinkered a wee bit with it before, but today I played with all 128 of the presets (some of them are wicked funny), messed with the attack/decay envelope (ah there's nothing like being exposed to computer synthesizers at a young age - I know what this shit does! And how to adjust it! Thank you, Music Studio.*), ran through some scales (fuck, i'm rusty) and started teaching myself the Moonlight Sonata, which I've been meaning to do for about a year. My hands are screaming up to the elbows - I guess they figured I was done with the whole reaching for octaves nonsense once I stopped organ. (It's quite a reach for me. Ow. Curse my bitsy hands.) It's also been years since I sat down and taught myself to play anything - not having a grand piano downstairs will do that, I guess. Speaking of which, jeez. I have to wonder how flat Mom's piano's gotten by now, should crank it open next time I'm in NY and nag Dad to get someone in to tune it.

so yeah, I'm a little sore, but way better than I was three hours ago.

Not much planned for the rest of the evening other than some OMG yay cuddlings with the much absent of late girlie and some cheerful overdosing on as much Law & Order as TNT and USA can fling at us (Oh hey, [livejournal.com profile] sundart... you will not believe this. Freakshow from Harold and Kumar? It's Stabler under really gross makeup. I shit you not.)

And you know, even though I have a shitload of work waiting for me at work tomorrow, I'm actually looking vastly forward to going. Helps that all the projects on my plate are both fun and challenging - the trick will just be getting them all DONE.

We'll see how that goes.

* did anyone else have that program? for the Apple IIGS? man, I used to play with that thing for HOURS when I was short.
