kjpepper: (determined Igra)

So I volunteered to be in charge of dinner tonight, as [livejournal.com profile] sundart is flying far far away with her head in the clouds and her ears stopped by 110 minutes of sappy mix tape she and I put together yesterday. I get as far as the chicken, realize I have no idea what I'm going to do with it that's reasonably quick and easy, especially as I wasn't willing to thaw out all that much. Of course, there's no pasta sauce . . . so I grabbed a slicker against the downpour that was raging outside, and Bellenoir and I dashed into the storm. You haven't experienced wet crotch until you've biked through a five inch deep street flood at top speed.

Still the ride was good for me, and despite the fact that my vision was somewhat hampered and my slicker's kinda hot and smelly, I was glad to be out in the rain. Made an observation about my asthma - somewhere along the line I had completely forgotten how to breathe from below my sternum. If I concentrate, I can usually loosen up my diaphagm enough to do it, but not when I'm doing anything strenuous - it feels not entirely unlike someone's squeezing off the lower half of my chest. And there was indeed a rainbow. This would make the fourth I've seen. Ever. Go me.

I have more to write . . . well, okay, rant about, but it will have to wait. I have some dinner to cook and the other half of a mix tape to record.

I just thought I should mention that from the same CD as Deep as you Go, Dark Time and Sunday Morning Yellow Sky are my favorites. Try it, you'll like. :) OK, maybe not (no guarantees...)
