The one really good thing about Thursday

It's chicken noodle soup day at State Street Fruit Store. Normally that's kinda hey whatever, but their soup is truly wonderful stuff. It's even good ice cold, and that's really saying something. If you are in Northampton on Thursdays at all, I highly recommend you stop in for a bowl.

Here's a question for the assembled... why is it that EVERYONE serves New England Clam Chowder on Friday?

fish on fridays! it's a catholic thing. but sometimes they put bacon in it. :/

Yeah, for Catholics, eating meat on Friday is a big no-no, so McD's came up with the filet-o-fishwich and before that everyone served fish or fishy things on Fridays. This is also related to ice cream sundaes, by the way.
