kjpepper | A few observations from today

Cold fresh air feels wonderful on a stuffy head that's been cooped up inside for more than a day. I'm basically not sick anymore at this point - the rest is just expelling dead white blood cells from my system. Which is still bloody uncomfortable, but at least I'm not getting dizzy anymore. My lips, though. Agggh, the chappage.

Highly pretentious pseudoartistic films often have highly pretentious psuedoartistic directors. There was this one short played at NIFF today that played like Terry Gilliam lost a few hundred braincells because he'd become a goth and drank too much absinthe and in a stupor shot himself non-fatally in the head and then decided to animate a movie inspired by Dracula. Unfortunately he was one of the three animators actually present with their work for the Q&A and man, was he a tightassed little prick. Duel, on the other hand, played quite well on a large screen, and

anzovin, who btw, cleans up very well, held his own during the Q&A.

Schmooze for a man once, and maybe he'll connect with one other filmmaker. Teach a man to schmooze, though... that proves challenging, as

sydneycat and I found while we (well, mostly she) attempted to teach

anzovin to properly shmooze with people at the film festival afterparty. That was fun.

anzovin still has the capacity for moral indignation, as the next lesson suggested by

sydneycat upon leaving the party was how to go to bars and pick up women. Emphatically vetoed, but amusing in concept.

The incongruous image of 50 Cent in a doublet. Don't ask, we were talking about Lando and that image popped into my head. No, not the one from Star Wars. Oh, never mind.

I really do enjoy the evenings where

morlock and I stay up after everyone's gone to bed, both sprawled on the couch in some configuration, watch TV and shoot the shit. It's really one of the best ways my evenings can end these days, and it doesn't happen as often as you might think, so when I do get comfy time with him, I cherish it.
