I ran two errands today on break. The first was to Silverscape Designs, as a gold necklace I'm rather fond of has been in need of repair for a number of months now, during which time it has been in the inside pocket of my coat. I finally took it in today, whereupon after solving the mystery of how many carats it actually is (I'd never heard of a 9K anything!) it was sent off to be relinked. I should get it back in a couple of weeks.

My second stop was to Yes Computers. You see, once upon a time I had a small electronic device named Lil' Bit. Lil' Bit went with me everywhere I went, was occasionally lent to friends to cheer them up, and pretty much provided the soundtrack of my life. Lil' Bit was with me the night I got hit by a car in February, and we thought it was the only real casualty of that accident. (Well, you wouldn't expect anything with circuits to survive flying into a snowbank and staying there for over a week, would you?)

On a whim I decided to take it in today and see if it was actually dead or just pining for the fjords, and lo and behold, after cleaning out the ports and the buttons and plugging it into an available computer, Lil' Bit flared into Indiglo life. Fjords, indeed.

It was like Christmas had come for real. You have no idea how much I MISSED this thing. It's still wicked scratched up, but do I care? I HAVE MY IPOD BACK. Someone up in here say "Hallelujah."

I think once I get it home I'm going to rebaptize it Eclipse, since the last thing I heard before the stupid car hit me was "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Sick... but fitting.
