Yesterday was plain awful
But that's not now - that's then *
Note to self - the whole exhausted, hungry, and soul-ragged combo is not good when hanging out with lots of people. *sigh* But there were good things about yesterday - Dinner was fabulous, and even though by a series of unfortunate events our movie viewing party was cut down to me and Victor (who is quite amusing company) I did end up enjoying Underworld 2 - White Wolf Continues To Be Pissed. I think I might have liked it better than I liked the first one, but then again this one made a little more sense, occasionally dispensed with the blue filter, was charmingly, disgustingly gory in a few places, and featured a few lovely soft filter shots of Kate Beckinsale naked. Oh, and I have this thing for Derek Jacobi. Even though this is obviously his "Goddamn it, even respected Shakesperean thespians should get to do something FUN once in a while" movie. Kinda like any movie Ben Kingsley's done in the past five years. Or Patrick Stewart playing the world's best gay man in Jeffrey. BTW - Amoeba + Deerfield Kids if you haven't seen that movie yet, you must. Soon. I'm ready for a viewing of it. (and yes, I own a copy too.)
At the very end of the night I got to be gently but thoroughly fussed over by
morlock, which goes a long way towards leveling me when I'm feeling off-kilter, and which I sorely needed.
today I am at work finishing up this and that, and after that all that's on my schedule is a fuckton of laundry and some hard earned relaxing. It's been a long hard week, unexpectedly, and I need some downtime to recover. And then on Sunday, us chicks minus sunny are going to see Hostel. Should be fun, and utterly disgusting. :)
I was amused to find mention of the John Cameron Mitchell arthouse sex movie I'd considered briefly auditioning for what, two years ago? in EW this morning. Shortbus. Apparently it's coming out in March. Probably to Pleasant Street. Thinking of going to see it just to be perverse. :)
