You know it's bad when your two main activities for the weekend combine in unexpectedly hilarious ways. Like the fact that for a while when I closed my eyes I could see the fret strip from Guitar Hero floating behind my eyes, except the fret buttons were the appropriately colored snoods. Not to mention the background was a snood game in progress.
As if to add insult to injury, the makers of Snood have come out with Snoodoku. That's right, kids. Sudoku. Played with snoods instead of numbers. It's actually a little harder playing with the snoods, as numbers have a sort of predetermined sequence to them and snoods don't.
I'm starting to really like Guitar Hero. I get rather too easily frustrated with my scores a lot, whereupon
sydneycat yells at me to OMG lighten up, since I haven't yet gotten lower than three stars on a song, even the ones I "don't know." (I only put those in quotes because I've watched
morlock play it enough that I'm at least basically familiar with most of the songs on the regular set list.) I seem to have some trouble with synching up anything faster than a quarter note with the note indicated on the strip, especially if a sequence starts on an off beat. Then again I've always had a little trouble counting things musically - I tend to come in early. Anyway, I've been having fun with it, and I'm considering getting another guitar controller once I catch up with
morlock, cause then we can play duets. Or something.
In other news, I'm still kinda baseline listless and tired, this weekend I've been alternating between manic and quietly despondent, yesterday I couldn't stop eating (hormonal munchies, I think)... I've just been all over the map, and I definitely didn't get enough sleep this weekend, which means I'm very with the bleary eyed and the whiny "But Mooooooom, I don't wanna go to work" sentiments. Spent much of yesterday and today playing the aforementioned games and playing "Spot the black guy in (event)" with
sydneycat during the Olympic coverage. Cause you know, black people don't do the winter sports thing. Unless they're from France (cute French snowboarder last night...). I was actually surprised to see two vaguely colored men in the pairs figure skating (not scatting, ha ha). I'm rather looking forward to the men's singles skating, curling, 2 person luge (truly the most homoerotic sport ever). Also
sundart cooked some fantastically yummy chicken last night as well.... :) Dahling, you must do that again sometime.
I might take this Friday off and have myself a four day weekend. I have been putting in six day weeks for the past three... I think it's starting to catch up with me.
and now... time to play everyone's favorite game: "Where's! My! Shoe!?"
