Quick quick
Jun. 16th, 2006 09:55 amI have much to do in the next hour, so I'm just going to post some notes.
1) Dinner was lots of fun, it was good to see the people gathered, and
sydneycat was happy to see all of us at her surprise party. The food was wonderful, but they really shouldn't have put the new guy on the 13 person table, as he obviously didn't know how to seperate a check (we did tell him we'd want them at the beginning and he'd sort of waved us off.) So it ended up taking about half an hour total just to settle our bill.
2) We went to see Cars at the Tower Theater, where I'd never been (it's adorable). Cars was a breathtaking bit of Cg eye candy, but it somehow wasn't quite as good as the rest of Pixar's work - it was definitely missing something, or maybe there was too much of something. I haven't decided. Still it was enjoyable, visually eyepopping, hilarious (the tractors!!!) and I was pleased about the little things Pixar had thrown in - like during one montage the drivers are passing some electrical wires and you get a quick glimpse of the Pixar birdies sitting on them!
3) I managed to get my head yarned up in a record four hours. (midnight to 4am.) It won't last as long as I opted for chunky and fast as opposed to little and take-forever-and-get-no-sleep. Thanks to
morlock for making me come up to 11 and do it there instead of going home; I was very glad of the company and the distractions provided by overly interested kitty and WOW.
I think that's about all. My bus leaves in an hour. I'm excited and a little scared about Reunion, but I'm taking the camera with me, cause I was thinking of doing a little photo essay on the experience. Whether I actually stay for the weekend remains to be seen... I might just head back tonight and save myself half the stress...
gotta run.
