kjpepper: (OMG YAY)

I spent today hanging out with the [livejournal.com profile] sundart and the [livejournal.com profile] anzovin and had quite a good time of it, as it's been a while since the three of us did any hanging out. :) The day started with them rousting me back out of bed around noon to drag my carcass to the farmers market and get something breakfast-like, and then sunny and I were on our own for a bit... so we had some of that thar quality time that couples tend to want to have a lot. And then Raf came back and took us to the Taste... honestly I think I like Amherst's version better than Northampton's. That one had more restaurants, but it was such a tourist trap and the whole reason why they stopped was because no one was having any fun doing it anymore. Amherst's seems more homey somehow. And they had vendors. :) We even ran into Angelgrrl there, which was fun as she was baby-wrangling her neighbor's kids with her partner (and they looked so cute doing it too). I introduced Raf to the wonder that is chicken tikka masala, had myself some pulled pork, and after some initial pouting about the plethora of ice cream and other desserts available settled down with some B&J's berry berry sorbet, which turned out to be so heavenly I resolved to get myself a pint next time I had extra funds.

After lunch, R&C went to visit Raf's family so I went home with the found battery charger in hand, plugged in the camera and spent the rest of the afternoon happily pillaging and buying piratey furniture until I was again summoned by the Dynamic duo, this time for shopping (I at long last have the dream of having my very own venus flytrap plant fulfilled... and I got some hangers for both clothes and pictures) and seeing Cars again (they hadn't seen it.) Cars actually is quite a bit better the second time around, as you can ignore the formulaic plot and just admire the fact that they did a very very good job telling that particular story with friggin cars. It occurs to me that I should drag captainlove to see it at some point, as he would appreciate more than anyone else the amount of reasearch and production design went into this particular movie. Of course a good section of the movie was made rather unwatchable by some wench with little kids that insisted on loudly playing hide and seek or peekaboo or crying during the movie... did I mention loud? gaaaagh. It got a little better after I yelled "shut it up or take it home," much to the amusement of the people sitting around me. Seriously people. A G rating should mean "Grown up enough to sit still and shut up through the entire movie."

Anyway, now I sit, getting all of my pics off the camera and am settling in for some photo processing and cleaning up a little tonight... Tomorrow, provided I get my arse out of bed at a reasonable hour, I think will be laundry. Yes.

I think I really like this place. :)
