Wow, it's pouring. Just the weather to really not feel like going to work in. Alas, projects call.

Fuck this. As well as several folks close to me, I'm really sick of being impaired in the license department, and as my permit is probably expiring next spring.... I have a pretty good handle on operating and rules, and have driven fairly long distances (25 miles ish) but I need more practice so I can stop panicking every time I park and turn off the ignition, and I need someone who, after I get a bit more confidence, is willing to risk life and limb as I brave the scary prospect of an actual highway. (116 does NOT count.) Or the even scarier prospect of the Stop n Shop parking lot.

You must have an operational car with automatic transmission and an emergency brake in the middle. You must also be willing to listen to me talk to myself the entire time, as it's the one thing that keeps the panic demons at bay when I'm behind the wheel, especially when going over the Coolidge Bridge.

Oh yeah. Might help if you were in Massachusetts.

I was all set until the last line. Except for not having a Stop n Shop around. The mind was willing, but the flesh, and the vehicle, were stuck in Salt Lake City. :)

..over a parking lot anyday. they seem scary at first, but statistically are safer than in town. the traffic's all going at roughly the same speed, people leave a greater distance between cars, there's better visibility since there are fewer obstacles like overgrown trees/insane pedestrians/etc.

and if it's any comfort to you, i used to talk to myself when driving cass. ;)

Also, just because there isn't a center brake doesn't mean logging driving time on my car is worthless.
