my existance can be pretty much summed up by "Im in ur lungs, obstructing ur breathin." The good news: it's now a wet cough so it hurts less to do it. The bad news: it's now a wet cough. Ew. I keep having flashes of Gaston singing "I'm especially good at expeeeeeeeeeectorating" after particularly nasty bouts.

On top of that, I've been somewhat depressed all week, and yesterday my mood turned particularly black, as if the chest congestion also affected my heart somehow. I know that's not really how it works, but still, being sick is not a particularly good mood booster. I know that yesterday when I left work I was pretty down, and it kinda tailspined throughout the night. Of course, then not getting any sleep due to not being able to breathe didn't really help, though a talk (or in my case, a raspy whisper) with morlock last night did to an extent. Now I'm just sort of tired and feeling somewhat ragged around the edges. I finally decided to call in this morning, as coughing on the popcorn doesn't seem very sanitary, so now I'm trying to decide whether I should curl up someplace and go to sleep or stay up and play WoW since my lungs are going to wake me up every 20 minutes anyway.

blergh.

I, too, am sick. And I have fallen in love. I highly recommend Yogi Tea's "Throat Comfort", made with black licorice. When I saw the licorice part, I was like, ew. But being desperate, I bought anyway. So very glad I did. This is the first tea I've liked, ever. And it makes my poor, dry throat feel better. Note, this from the woman who gets dry patches in her throat that trigger her gag reflex, leaving her hovering over a sink frantically trying to drink something throat-coating in between gags and heaves and coughs. Love, love, love this tea.

Licorice is great for sore throats...and so is peppermint.

Illness can depress your system which if you think about brings the body down overall. Take a good hot shower or bath, get some positive vibe music and try to get some sun to counteract the moody.
