My entire respiratory tract is sore, and I've had maybe six hours of sleep for the weekend. Maybe seven. Basically I go to sleep and after 20 min-hour my vagus nerve goes "oh shit! lungs full of gunk! We're gonna DIE!" Cue waking up to round of painful coughing. Or I won't be quite asleep, so part of me is awake enough to try to suppress the hacking, resulting in weird unconscious noises emitting from my trachea. It seriously creeped [livejournal.com profile] morlock out until I explained what was going on.

So yeah. Not so much with the healthy. :( Made my weekend kinda hellacious really. I ended up calling out at Cinemark on Saturday evening. I was also scheduled Sunday morning, so I thought I'd give it the college try, since I felt bad calling out both days in a row. (i really do have this hangup about calling out of work when I'm sick - generally if it feels like people need me too much I won't do it - and if I have an appointment I show up even if I feel like microwaved dinosaur poo - reminds me I should check that today). I was actually quite proud of myself - I lasted through two rushes before giving up and fleeing back home. Not coughing when you desperately want to for half an hour at a time is challenging, but no one and nothing got coughed on and I washed my hands rather rabidly after any time I needed to. Still there was no fucking way I was going to last until 5 doing that, and I was quite relieved to go home and join the family in ooohing and ahhing over [livejournal.com profile] morlock's new toy. Will probably call out and work from home today, provided I don't have anyone coming in.

Other than the coughing, which was a big part of it, my weekend was fairly good. Both sunny, [livejournal.com profile] morlock and [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat all spent good portions of their time hovering about and getting me tea and making me not miserable. [livejournal.com profile] morlock got the Wii on Saturday night, and since I'd decided that sleeping was a lost cause I stayed up until four AM watching him set it up and play. OMG it looks fun! Seriously, you know a console is gonna be awesome if you spend almost an hour playing with it before you even put a game in! After I came home from work yesterday I was treated to the sight of sydmor duking it out playing Wii Sports and enjoying the spectacle of [livejournal.com profile] morlock getting trounced at boxing by [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat. We even got [livejournal.com profile] anzovin to play! So fun... and definitely hitting the inclusive goal. The only problem is someone's gonna get hurt flailing with this thing - you can totally see why they have a security strap to tie around your wrist to keep the remote from slying out of your hand. I think this is going to be fun for the family, which suits my nefarious purposes, as one of the things I want to work on post wedding is getting the five of us to hang out all together more.

Speaking of which, getting five people together doing the same thing is challenging... course, that just makes it more fun when it happens. Like last night on WoW the entire Order logged on spontaneously and all of us happened to be signed on as our main characters. Which was wonderful! We immediately set out to finally finish up VC which was a blast... hopefully we can do some questing and BFD soon. I'm so glad bluewindkitsune's back online. :) And I love our group, we really are become quite the efficient little killing factory together. Can't wait until our priest is big enough to join us.

Went to bed last night, woke up several times to cough, and then right before I woke up the last time I had this extrememly weird dream where I was waiting to audition for a production of the Wiz and was trying to decide between singing "Don't nobody bring me no bad news" and "What would I do (if I could feel)" as my audition, and meanwhile reading up on the history of the production (yah, it was one of those dreams where you can read stuff) and the differences between the broadway show and the movie. The weird part was that a fifteen year old Stephanie Mills showed up to give me advice. Reason why that was wierd is that age Stephanie is SO before my time it's rather sick. I mean, the movie came out the year I was born. So. Very strange. Incidentally the reason why I couldn't decide which of the songs to use? I love "No bad news" but I don't know all the lyrics to it. This doesn't generally stop me from singing it when doing the dishes, but might hurt an audition. :)

Need to see that movie again. Hell, why on earth don't I OWN that movie? (yes morlock I know.) I lost my VHS copy and haven't gotten around to replacing it on DVD.

No appointments for me today. Well, if I'm going to be doing this from home, I should make myself some breakfast and get cracking.
