My right ear and my voice are totally busted, but that's generally a GOOD thing after a concert. Well, not the ear really. Next time, earplugs. Yeesh.

mc chris was pretty fabulous. The man does an excellent live show, I have to give him that, and aside from some hilarious autographs, he actually chatted with J and I for a little bit before his set. Best part is we'll have cable again in time to catch the new show on Adult Swim that he's voicing on, yay.

Wow, I miss adult swim.

I also bought comix a go go last night before the show, as during the cleanup C found about $90 worth of gift certificates. I now own Marjane Satrapi's Embroideries and Chicken with Plums, the graphic novel of Neverwhere, the latest Dykes to Watch Out For compilation, and Banana Sunday, which is apparently what Colleen Coover has been doing instead of providing us with the third trade's worth naughty adventures of Annie and Nibbl. (This looks equally as horrifically adorable, so I'm looking forward to it.) This version of Neverwhere was definitely interesting... they made some seriously radical art decisions that I'm still trying to decide if they were jarring enough to be distracting or merely just wildly different from what I always envisioned. (The Marquis, Door, and Islington specifically, though mostly just Door.) That and I'm not sure if moving it from an omniscient 3rd person narrator to 1st person told from Richard's p.o.v. worked very well, though I understand why it was done. Still... enjoyable. It's always fun seeing another person's take on a story.

I have a Dr.'s appointment today at 10, then work, then the hanging out with teh Von over at QT. But first I need to go kick a stubbornly snoring J out of bed so he doesn't get a parking ticket.

Yeah, Pearl Street doesn't know there are settings other than "11" on the amps. If they actually sold earplugs they'd make a killing.

Have you seen the miniseries? It came out before the novel.

yep. :) I think it's going for Douglas adams' record as to how many versions of this story can be told, though sadly you can't have a towel version of Neverwhere.

Do you realize we've known each other for 10 years now? Holy crap.

Just thought you'd like to know.
