K, pass me the Geritol and Dentugrip. I just happened to glance up at the parking meter where I usually lock my bike and happened to notice that there is a credit card slot in it.

I'm sure they've been around for a while, but seeing as i don't as yet encounter parking meters in their intended capacity very often, I only just noticed today. Course I had much the same reaction when the fast food industry finally started taking plastic.

Damn I'm old.

Wait, in Boston? I haven't seen that yet either. And, frankly, I use meters for their intended purposes far too often. Hmm, I have mixed feelings about that and how it seems like a silly way to use a credit card since there is such a high fee for using credit cards for small purchases. It makes me nervous that they are going to increase the price of the meters!

if it's any comfort to you, i wasn't aware they had credit card slots in parking meters these days, either.

and in my hometown, it was a big deal when they finally switched to digital parking meters a while back.
