Lynyrd Skynyrd.

My friend said when he first tried that one on Guitar Hero II he found himself thinking, "I don't get why this is set on hard!"

Then he got to the guitar solo ...

That's what some friends of mine were saying last weekend at a birthday party. The solo and it's just so damn long.

Damn these songs with multiple covers! Uh ... variations in the title are "(It's Only A) Paper Moon" and just "Paper Moon."

Hmm, so very, very close you said ... Maybe Nat "King" Cole sings it, too? Is that what you mean?

I'll take that. :)

It was originally recorded by Ella Fitzgerald.

I never remember who did that song first. Ella was in there somewhere, but I confess my next guess was gonna be "That Star Trek: DS9 hologram guy."

In response to your question in the last post, here is a list of people who should NEVER, under ANY circumstances, be allowed near "Me and Bobby McGee":

-Dolly Parton
-Willie Nelson (Willie, I love you, but you have countrified a fine song to death here)
-Jennifer Love Hewitt
-ANN FUCKING MURRAY
-pretty much everyone else who tries to sing it. Janis just won that round, guys. Sorry.

How does it compare to Falco's cover of Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue"?

I will admit to having owned a copy of Falco 3, and it's actually better than you might think. The melody of "Jeanny" is hauntingly beautiful; learning the story years later was fascinating (admittedly, in a train-wreck sort of way). His cover of "Baby Blue" has always stood for me as the ultimate proof of my theory that there is nothing on this earth that Bob Dylan has written or recorded that can't be improved upon by someone else. ;-)
