In a generation or two, especially if each one repeats the mistakes of the previous one... all of Arkansas and probably good sized chunks of the surrounding states are going to be directly descended from the Duggars, who just popped out kid #17 today.
My favorite bit of the above article was this: "'It actually went fast,' she said. 'I guess once I started progressing, it went within 30 minutes.'" Yeah, that's because you don't have a vagina anymore sister, you have a revolving door. Seriously, if this woman has any more kids, she could take up a part time job as a traffic tunnel.
I'm the youngest of six myself, and don't necessarily disbelieve in large families as long as all of the offspring are loved, cared for and supported (without having to set up a donation fund for them). I mean ideally we should be looking to decrease population instead of increasing it, but having gone through my own attacks of kidlust I also understand the drive towards parenthood and thus can't exactly condemn either side. However, I've seen some of the Discovery Channel programs on the Duggars, and they just creep me the hell out with their assembly line mentality towards procreation and childcare. Families should be families, not baby factories. I don't think those teenagers have lives of their own between the home schooling and the taking care of the latest batch of little ones. And there is no way on the goddess' green earth that those parents are giving each of those poor kids the kind of love and caring that they need to thrive. Therefore I can say with no sense of hypocrisy that if Michelle Duggar won't cork her cervix then someone should gift that goat of a husband she has with some uranium enriched tighty whities.
