Dear FOX,

I realize that you are the media lapdog of what we erroneously call the Right, but I feel the need to alert you to my extreme annoyance with you at this time. While I realize that Sally Field is rather incapable of delivering an acceptance speech that is devoid of goofy, there was no need to censor the last two words of it at last night's Emmy Award ceremonies, especially as she had just begun to make sense. We all know what she said anyway, and though I know this comes as a great shock to you, quite a lot of your audience agrees with her.

No love,

Andee

UGH. I really hate live TV sometimes just for this very reason, especially when there's footage substitution. I don't know why, it always has pissed me off and/or creeped me the hell out. I think it's the sudden jarring discontinuity of a sudden jump cut, like last night where one second there was Sally Field pontificating rather tritely about war and the next second, in the middle of a word, no less, we cut to a camera way up in the rafters where the stage area is obscured by decor, but not enough to hide that this is a shot taken from earlier when there was no one on the stage and no sound either. WTF? was Sally Field suddenly abducted by aliens? Did the Gentlemen come and steal everyone's voices? News at 11? Commercial?

And they wonder why the ratings for award shows are going down.

I don't watch such things, what was she going to say that upset them so?

the closing line of her speech was "Let's face it, if the mothers of the world were in charge, there would be no goddamn war."

She got as far as "go-"
