kjpepper: (there it is)
Drumming is filtering through the windows from Pagan Pride, [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat is making sweet potato rolls and I'm warm and sleepy. Yeah.

[livejournal.com profile] anzovin, you should come see pictures. Yes. Now.

Well, I did manage to get some of the cesspit that is our apartment clean. :) Which is good and I can at least say that I've done something proactive. Currently doing laundry.

I also feel less like poop and more like heavily watered... not poop. Not 100% but not in danger of falling down the stairs anymore. I was good enough to actually walk to the mall with [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat for the matinee of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which was like the creepiest fucking episode of Law and Order ever. Which, y'know, is a complinment. I like courtroom drama. And it was creepy as hell, which was fun. Only had to scrape [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat off the cieling once though, so it could've been creepier. ;) Seriously, it was... thought provoking.

Most of yesterday was spent moping around with [livejournal.com profile] morlock both being sick, but there was the tail end of watching Captain Blood with the gang. God, Olivia De Havilland is a beautiful woman... and yes, I was shocked to find out she's still around. Teaching Sunday school to French kids right now. Wow. And after that, there was more Firefly goodness. Wow. Joss Whedon, let me tell you. That man knows how to use his actor's facial expressions to great advantage. Usually preceding a cut to commercial.

Today was spent mostly out and about as I felt better. First [livejournal.com profile] captainlove showed up early this morning to take me to breakfast at Stables, with the accompanying conversation which he is inevitably good for. Bundled him off with all of my Transmetropolitan (because cantankerous bastards need role models too ;) ) and Neverwhere - figured he'd like Croup and Vandermar. He should enjoy those.

Note to self - need to go back to Lane Bryant and get some stretch jeans that are actually, well my size. I mean the black ones still look damned fine on me (as evidenced by how [livejournal.com profile] morlock playfully broke a wooden spoon across my ass this morning) but... well, they could be a wee bit tighter...

syd and I went to the movies, came back, didn't feel like staying home, and then went to Rao's for a while. She read, I worked on a story idea I've been playing with for a while... I've got the back story nailed down, and I know how the story opens, but I have no idea how it ends and how it gets there and how the four main characters find each other again. I also need to fill in this blank with one to three syllables:

"Your daddy was the Magic Man
Your mama was his _______"

I've tried "Muse" and "Lady", but neither have much that rhyme with them, and I'd, well, like to go a little bit further with this thing than two line. It's supposed to end up as the beginning of a nursery rhymish type of song. Gotta play with it some more, I'll eventually figure out something that fits. But, y'know, suggestions are welcome. Anyway, I did quite a bit of scribbling on that. Might do some more later if I feel inspired.
kjpepper: (oooh pancake!)
Yesterday was spent doing... stuff! Too often I am defeated by my own inertia and by sunday night I groan about the waste of the weekend. But yesterday was wonderful, packed with productivity, good friends and fun. So no regrets about yesterday at all, which is rare for me.

Yesterday morning [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat and I attacked sydmor's kitchen with a vengeance and made a fair amount of progress in there whist both caterwauling to KMFDM and other gothy stuff (guess what, people, dead stars still burn!) then we hauled all the boxes we broke down and the trash downstairs. So that was grand and it earned both of us lots of loving from the boy and Wings for dinner. Yay Wings. I may miss Teapot and Taipei and Tokyo, but moving to Amherst definitely ups the opportunity to order Wings and Brunos.

Directly after the spate of cleaning, [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah showed up and after a bit of conferring over the computer set out to see The Brothers Grimm which was charmingly, weirdly, ridiculous and silly. Good god, something is very wrong with Terry Gilliam. Need to watch Brazil again, I think. But anyway, we had a good time, and then inle_rah drove home to take a nap, and I headed back upstairs.

The October Rewind, I found out, is on my birthday. How cool is that shit? Course - it'd be nice if we knew what it was. If it's Scream, I'm skipping it, though I'll probably still hold court at the diner beforehand. :)

Hung out with [livejournal.com profile] sundart and [livejournal.com profile] anzovin for a bit, then went upstairs to hang out and wait for [livejournal.com profile] morlock to come home from work... though when he got out, he called [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat's phone and with some cheerfully phrased cryptic questions alerted us to the fact that he was plotting something nefarious, and still didn't tell us when he at last got home. Instead we all put on our shoes and went over to Quadtower Annex (ie, anzovin's) to interrupt [livejournal.com profile] anzovin's and [livejournal.com profile] sundart's shenanigans and bully them back into clothes, whereupon [livejournal.com profile] morlock revealed that he had gotten his hands on the first few episodes of Firefly and we were all hereby ordered to head back to sydmor's to watch it, lured with bribes of dinner, brownies and hangings out with the Amoeba. Much with the joymaking - though the boyos had seen it already, we all did thoroughly enjoy watching it together.

I had been expecting Firefly to be no less than excellent, being already a fan of anything associated with "Grr. Arrgh," and having seen bits of it already. So I had a fabulous time with it, especially watching it with the Amoeba, as there was much with the commentary, bickering, brownies, comparisons drawn between it and Cowboy Bebop, drooling over Mal and Kaylee and occasionally Inara (but you're supposed to drool at Inara and that's not nearly as much fun) and yelling at pretty much all of the characters whenever they did something particularly brainless or asinine.

So it seems I might indeed get to watch Firefly before Serenity comes out. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] morlock. (Though that doesn't mean I might not stop in for a couple of eps during athaerith's proposed marathon the weekend before. ;) )

so yeah - busy wonderful day. And today I didn't exactly sleep in, but I did stay abed reading until 11:30, so it's high time I got up and dispensed with the rest of today in a slightly more useful fashion... though from [livejournal.com profile] sundart's tone of voice, I have a feeling that the dispension will start with heading back to bed. S'cuse me. :D
kjpepper: (we're just kids (morlock))
and I might mention far to early to be up. Oh well.

I'm not sure what exactly I wanted to put in this entry. Not much has been really going on over the past couple of days, just hangouts with the 'Quad (with special guest star the Jew) really. Sunday [livejournal.com profile] sundart and [livejournal.com profile] anzovin cooked the family (minus [livejournal.com profile] morlock who was gamin') dinner, then we sat down to watch This Is Spinal Tap, which the girlies had never seen despite me nagging at Sunny for a good four years (but she apologized about a quarter way into the movie so I WIN. yes). The intro to the DVD is equally as hilarious as the movie is, kudos to them. I'm also amused that this movie is the reason why Christopher Guest and Jamie Lee Curtis are married - apparently she saw this movie, called up his agent and was all like "OMGWTF he's cute! Can we go on a date?" *chuckle* It's always the ones with the singularly bizarre get together story, isn't it? Can you just imagine the person giving Chris Guest that phone message? "Excuse me, sir, that girl from those Halloween slasher movies is on the phone. She wants to shag you."

Last night [livejournal.com profile] morlock and I did some work on the comics, with a few amusing delays that had me extremely glad I didn't know him in college or high school. The reason, either way, would have been the same - nothing done due to sexins all the freak time. Despite that, I did finally get one full strip at least sketched out. The style's finally resolving into something I like.

PSA - my celly's still AWOL. if you need me, try work, home, Gmail, [livejournal.com profile] morlock or [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat in that order.

all right, time to schlub off to work now. *sigh*
kjpepper: (base kleo)
Funny how I can tell immediate that my web site is down by looking at my LJ (my background image is fed from it.) Wonder what's up this morning?

Had a relatively good evening... we didn't wind up gaming as planned, though. What we ended up doing was that us girls made [livejournal.com profile] anzovin sit through The Craft cause he'd never seen it... apparently I have to sit through Lilo and Stitch sometime soon... yes I know, I need to see it. :P Maybe if the trailers hadn't been so hideously dumb when it came out, I would have, so blame Disney's lame-ass marketing department. Sheesh. ;)

After that I had a bit of a double feature, as I got some long delayed kick-the-cats-out time with [livejournal.com profile] sundart, and way later [livejournal.com profile] morlock came down for cuddling and wound up staying. Definitely one of those evening where I feel quite blessed in the people-love-me department. :)

Today though looks like a long patience-testing day at work, with maybe a bit of [livejournal.com profile] lostinnocencia later and some comics drawing, since [livejournal.com profile] morlock got a working scanner off of freecycle :) At some point I have to clean up the other half of my room and sweep...

Ah well. *cracks knuckles* onwards!
kjpepper: (me and sunny d)
Today boiled. Like an egg, except without the cool shell to pick off. But it was still pretty good, if hectic and busy! hoping for a quieter evening sticking close to home tomorrow, and since the Ren Faire that sunny and I are accompanying [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah to tomorrow is, oh, on the Common, oh, 30 feet from our front door, that counts.

So today. 2 farmers markets were hit. The first one [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat found a magenta coleus and told me I could totally have a clipping, and then later on in the day we liberated a clipping of the deep deep purple almost black kind so we totally win. I'm totally going to try my hand at houseplants again, once upon a time I actually had a knack for growing them. It's been years though. Anyway, my two coleus clippings will totally make me happy. And since I'll have a hot pink one and a black one, they're totally getting named Magenta and Riff Raff.

We then had quite the hot sticky walk around northampton... First to gypsyheart, then UltraGal, then the Mercantile after something garbish for Sunny to wear to [livejournal.com profile] athene's wedding. We settled on something nice and peasanty for her. :) Then way the hell across town for [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat's wedding dress fitting... apparently, [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I are officially the Wedding Dressers. To which I responded that we needed drawers to go with the title. Frilly ones. Bloomers. Something.

[livejournal.com profile] sydneycat's dress, btw? gorgeous.

Then back across town for various markety sundries. Inspired by the fitting, C and I brainstormed some ideas for our little "holy crap lets get married" party on the way. And then home as a thunderstorm raged over Hadley and blew itself out, leaving the weather... still hot and sticky. Oh well.

So after an hour or so of hanging out in 9 discomfiting [livejournal.com profile] anzovin with frank ribald discussion and listening to sunny play trumpet, sydmor and I went to [livejournal.com profile] jade_eyes13's birthday party up in Squillage. Hmm. I have to wonder if the fun I had was due to the three (four?) mike's hard lemonades I had, got I'm a lightweight and a very silly one too, sheesh. Happy birthday, you cute young redhead you!

Home, and left to my own devices and ruminations on polyamory, as the [livejournal.com profile] sundart has been absconded. :) more bed and less prickly legs for me! ;) (blows sunny a kiss)

I would like to say here... Jesus fuck me gently with a chainsaw, but it's HOT.
