More October squee

So the weirdest thing happens to me. From November 1st until September 30 candy corn is the nastiest scheisse ever to grace the earth. I mean, it's caramelized HFCS in its pure unadulturated evil, other than the addtion of a little red #40 and yellow #5, right?

October 1st? Yeah, I'm craving this crap like a muffka. It's not even so much the taste, really, but the look and the smell of the stuff that I just want to be next to all during October.

May have to stop at CVS or Target and buy a bag tonight...

It's hilarious to me that they take a highly processed corn product and make it into the shape of corn.

My October craving is for Pumpkin Spice lattes from Starbucks. Anything pumpkin really. I had an amazing pumpkin bread pudding the other day.

Don't give in! Candy corn is 100% crap all-year-round! It doesn't spontaneously become good eats once a year.

Fun fact: there was only one batch of candy corn ever made, in 1954. All extant kernels are from that batch. (No, not really.)
