I get to HCC this morning to find out that the class I need to take has been cancelled.
dot. dot. dot.
*sigh* I'm never getting my diploma.
Time to write a panicked email to the Dean.
On the other hand, that means I don't have to wake up at some ungodly hour twice a week, so... extremely faint silver lining. Maybe a silver thread.

not tired yet, amazingly...
Jun. 10th, 2004 06:28 pmHeh. considering the assular start to my day, the rest of it was fairly decent...
Emailed the dean... she didn't seem all that worried about the class, so I've stopped panicking about it. Have to go see her tomorrow. Or rather, her replacement.
I came stomping back into Hamp on the PVTA. Not that the bus really stomps, though they do make a lot of pissed off sounding noise on general principle. :) It was more that I slowly mellowed out on the trip back. Thank goodness for tunes. Sometimes I wonder if I'd be even more fucked up than I already am if I hadn't had an appreciation for all things musical drilled into me from practically birth. I do far more escaping from the real world through music than I do through any other activity.
Anyway, got back into town, decided against walking home between then and work, so I wandered into Beyond Words for some Buddhist chanting set to New Age Yannya (well, that's what it sounds like they're always playing in there) and some coffee table books. I love looking at coffee table books, even though I can never afford them at like fifty bucks a pop. I found a volume of National Geographic photos through the last hundred years, and settled down happily to peruse, except the bookstore cat, Maple, decided for some reason that today I was the perfect naptime pillow, which made leafing through the book awkward to say the least. Not that I minded. Maple's not usually the most outgoing of kitties (at least not to me) so I appreciated the rare show of friendliness.
I wandered a bit downtown afterward, ostensibly to find some lunch before heading into work a bit early. Never did manage to get any, but I did find a few fascinating toys to play with in both the Mulberry Tree and A2Z. Also picked up some band-aids to carry around in my backpack (the only way I'm going to stop chewing my cuticles is if I bandage them) and some cotton balls to restock the plastic sheep in the bathroom.
Work was good, fairly low key again. And I had something that kept me fairly occupied while I was there too, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover I'd stayed a bit past time. (Music is a big help there too.) Ran out, said bon voyage to Angelgrrl, who's going to Cancun for a week (the envy...) and walked home in the cool sunshine. Who should I catch up with but sunny-d, thus bracketing my day quite nicely, as we'd also left home together early this morning.
Not sure how I'm going to dispense with the evening. Perhaps some tidying, some dishes hopefully, and a little bit of reorganization of the iThing. iTunes did something vastly annoying whilst I was importing music into it, and now all of my track names have the name of the artist embedded, so until I figure out some way of getting the stupid thing to stop doing that, I'm stuck renaming stuff. Will probably spend some time tonight tinkering with that.
Oh yeah. Still coughing. That sucks. But at least my sinuses are clear enough to breathe through.
